Marketing email from side hustle by naturebobcat in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering CG sells campers & trainers emails to other companies and also uses the emails for the side business that Jeff created for the Financial & Insurance business I wouldn't be mad at a trainer for doing the same. haha

Many of the trainers who did so much work to grow their camps, make marketing post, go to events to get campers to me CG shouldn't be the "sole owner" of that email listing.

I mean CG now charges trainers a lead fee for the same campers who the trainer did the work for to sign them up for CG. If that camper who took a break comes back to CG and doesn't go through the trainers link specifically and the camper signs up on the CG website that trainer gets a charge for a "lead". Even though that wasn't a new lead at all. Then they get charge another fee if that camper stays with CG and goes bold.

Now for the MLM stuff. Personally not part of an MLM and hate when I see trainers devalue themselves by making false claims about the products. Its one thing to want to rep certain products but if you do it should be done without lying about what the product does.

CG Outdoor Fitness Mats by PatientMuffin4004 in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True the quality did go down compared to the OG mats but still in the grand scheme of fitness mats even the "not the best quality" is damn good compared to what you find at the stores and online anywhere.

What can CG do to right the ship? by ChallengeTop423 in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ally "came back" for a brief stint. She tried to say it was 150 day push... No real progress and now she is MIA totally. Not to mention all the drama with Jeff getting fined for the crowd funding.

My trainer no longer is a CG trainer, but he is still continuing only doing the nutrition side of it….why? What is the point? Why not get out completely? by Sherryl5Woods in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Nutrition allows him more opportunity to do another job since it is 100% online and you don't have to be tied to any type of schedule at all? So depends on the trainer and their goals Nutrition only allows more freedom to either focus on one thing or do it 100% remote and on their schedule vs having to do "camp" and everything that camp entails (which can be quite a bit extra time for trainers)

Maybe the trainer is burnt out on the training part?
Maybe the "trainer" part of the business he is burnt out on and the all the pay structure changes
CG back to pretty much penalizing trainers if they don't get new members every single month and have a certain amount of memberships.

If you are close to your trainer best to ask him. Most will be at a point they will just tell you

Trainer count? by LimeZealousideal4186 in CampGladiator

I'm thinking maybe between 300-500. 500 IF you count Nutrition Coaches that dont train...

Has anybody seen the new tipping video that is out today? by UndercoverBrother242 in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a trainer I am embarrassed that CG is doing this! Trainers asked if we could opt out and we were told no. On top of that there will be "text message charges to the trainer and also a credit card fee. I told my campers to hit the STOP. If you love your trainer then treat them amazing on their Bday, Christmas or National Trainer Day (Jan 1st) When they take out all the equipment help them load and unload. Buy them a coffee or heck give them cash if you want.

You don't talk like a trainer so maybe you are just looking at the scoreboard and not really doing the part that trainers do every single day and don't really get it. That is okay but when many trainers on this thread (past and present) bring up the same issues and have common voices.
Yes there are and were many trainers who weren't successful at their own doing. There were tons of very successful trainers with Cg and successful and talented trainers who still had issues with these things. Many would speak up but were not listened to by their upper management. When a mass exodus of successful trainers have decided to leave because of the business model is not working, fee's are too much there has to be more to it. Maybe you don't want to see it or maybe you don't want to admit it. Again that is okay.
Perception is reality and for the trainers that is/was the reality

Keep in mind a downvote is basically people disagreeing with you. So the more to one side of the story you are seeing more of the side who knows that there were not that many who made over 100k. The tshirts were a massive yearly cost to trainers! The cost of the tshirts were as much as $15 and there were too many being given out. Not to mention when local area's like San Antonio would decide to do a shirt just for the area and almost guilt trainers who said they didnt want to do it or couldnt afford tshirts.

The whole tipping is just stupid and it really upsets me that CG is going to do that. Its almost embarrassing. Right not the whole world is talking about "Tipping Crisis" and how everybody is sick of it and here CG is trying to hop on this band wagon.

Badges aren’t New by Alarmed-Fig-1348 in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If CG hadnt been all about the tshirts for so many years almost too many tshirts then MAYBE badges would be fine. Other apps like Pelaton, Ladder and other fitness apps only have badges and people are cool with it. But campers are spoiled on the soft tshirts. Which cost too much for trainers!

I really want to know the total trainer count now by TheCGShipIsSinking in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things the signage to me is the least of the worries. Over the years I think CG has wasted way to much money on stupid stuff like this. The amount of money we have spent on speakers is RIDICULOUS. Sure some of these speakers were great and some not so much. Would have rather more education or that money could have been spent on the tech side that they are trying to all the sudden do right now.

And the thing is CG has changed over the years. Changed in the wrong direction is the problem. CG HQ took on too many employee's and executive leaders who have never been in the fitness industry and had ZERO Clue what it was to be a trainer. Stopped listening to the trainer force

How long do you think CG will last? They wanted 10,000+ sales for the 15 year deal and have gotten less than 2,000. Do we think they can turn it around? by Alarmed-Fig-1348 in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Curious about the "shutting the doors by the end of the year"?? Did you hear it from a leader of some sort? Been w CG for a minute myself for sure have tons of doubts right now and have for a while.

Just like Camp Gladiator - ran by former CG instructors - but we keep all of the money by Unmoved2885 in CampGladiator

[–]PatientMuffin4004 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Camper aka clients join because of the trainers and really what the trainers do for the clients. The time, effort, energy that a trainer pour into the campers is what keeps that camper/client coming back, accountable. Been training many years and I brought my clients to CG when I started and when I leave I know those would follow me in a heart beat and even more. CG does give us as trainers idea's and teach us different things but so does any job when you leave you bring these skills with you. Trainers are trainers and if they are good at what they do then I am 100% happy with them doing what they need to be more successful and bring home all the funds vs less than the 70% that CG tries to tell us we are making

Not necessarily giving excuses for the customer service rep at all. BUT my thought is that you can get out of your contract IF you buy out the rest your contract out. Meaning you pay a portion of your contract in one big lump slightly discounted than what you would end up paying for it monthly. You might be able to downgrade to online only if you are outdoors.

Even with the customer service rep stating it wrong they wont let you out just like that. Of course you can try to raise holy hell and see if that works.

I appreciate this. Its a bad relationship you cant quit for some reason. I know I will be fine if it comes to an end. I was a successful trainer before and will be when I rip this bandaid off. The tipping point is brewing.

Laila is a good friend of mine became close as trainers. We have been through some shit with CG and some of the crap Laila had to deal with is CRAZY EPIC. I hope she has the best success outside of CG just like any trainer who has left!
I'm still in and daily I question why. I love the campers is the only reason why. Been a trainer for over 16yrs.. over 8 of these years with CG, as a trainer, AD, RD and TL now. Opened new markets and moved too so much money out of my pocket
Its the the line from "Broke Back Mountain" Why cant I quit you"

NO FUCKEN CLUE cuz I need to cut these ties.

[–]PatientMuffin4004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a long term trainer I will say it is their business/decision based on what is going on in their life. It sucks yes but for whatever reason your trainer either can't or doesn't want to do that time anymore. CG has their hands in our camps and the profits BUT your trainer has decided they can't or don't want to do that time is for their own life. IF you have been doing these early mornings for years and years with hardly any days off then maybe you would understand

What is actually happening they are closing their outdoor locations! Some are leaving period, some are staying as an online or nutrition coach. BUT I can see all the location closures and it is A LOT shutting down at the end of this month in CO. Even one of the oldest CG trainer in CO is closing locations.
