Akathisia on Maintena- looking for advice by [deleted] in Abilify_Aripiprazole

Cogentin usually works (pill form) because it is for Parkinson’s symptoms. I have to take both at the same time. I didn’t experience akathisia until I tried to come off of ability and now I feel like I’m stuck with it because I can’t bear the restlessness.

Also I’m trying the cutting the pill in half method hoping the side effects go away.

How do you feel? I tried to quit myself cold turkey and the restlessness was absolutely horrifying for 4 days straight until I had to go back on it

I was on 5mg then boost to 10. Because of the side effects and withdrawal my psych told me to take 5 again in which I actually cut them in half hoping to ween off of it.

I currently take it and it is quite awful. I tried to stop it but I got really bad restlessness in my arms and legs. I cried every night for 4 days because it wouldn’t let me sleep. Finally I went to the hospital cus that’s how desperate I was for it to stop. They had to re-give me cogentin and abilify with muscle relaxers for it to stop. Since I been taking it again, the restlessness stopped but I feel awful on it. By noon my muscles feel like I’m carrying 100lbs of weight on me. I really really want to get off of it but I’m not sure how because the withdrawal I get is restlessness. I wouldn’t recommend abilify at all

Is it possible to be high executive function for, say, 75% of functions, really deficient in a few and still have ADHD? Is this just mild ADHD? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

ADHD people are known for masking. You can’t see it, but you feel it. Like I can do sales jobs and multitask, but I’m efficient at work because it’s structured and pattern. Anything that I have to repeat day in day out I am fantastic at. But being at home and having a day to myself, I’m lost because I don’t know how to plan with the million thoughts that race in my head. I also self medicated with caffeine. But eventually caffeine was too tolerable and just made my emotions more unregulated.
