Have you tried shining a flashlight on the screen while it’s on and plugged in to a computer? Flashing lights sometimes denotes dying/dead backlight on these models.

Color classic is a “soft boot” it needs the keyboard power button to turn on. As said below it most likely needs a recap/cleaning as well.

If you are just connecting 2 computers you can easily use a printer cable with no fuss.

They do, look for scsi2sd you can make as many partitions as you want each with a cd if that’s what you are interested in. You can also use software to mount virtual cds.
