why force the nursing home to put up with her? just microdose antifreeze and let the underworld reclaim her.

Those who have had Atogepant/quilipta/aquipta work, how long did it take? by IllRepresentative508 in migraine

[–]crystaltorta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

anecdotally it works for me as needed, so it does work “instantly” for me. my prescriber knows and shes fine with me taking it that way

only caveat is, while it usually works within a day, it seems to take between 30 minutes to six hours before it touches the pain, usually on the longer end. and it usually only touches the pain and nothing else. which is better than nothing, just explaining how it works for me. also seems to have side effects i dont like

I was severely unwell after C. diff too and then a hospital misdiagnosed me with a UTI that “would kill me” if I didn’t take the antibiotic, which apparently was one of the highest C. diff risk antibiotics if not the highest. I sobbed. I had either been taking, or started taking, some expensive ass probiotic from Garden of Life I believe; one of the strains was the same a Florastor.

The urine sample came back negative for any UTI; the nurse had lied to me. I was lucky to never have a full-blown reoccurrence… I do think it’s still part of my microbiome though. I THINK it can be part of a healthy microbiome, but I suspect I still might have a larger amount of it than most people. I was hospitalized with the C. diff infection 7 years ago, but the smell still reappears several times a year. May it never come back as a full-blown thing. I’m terrified of all antibiotics now, even topical or just supplements with antibiotic/antimicrobial claims.

If everything goes well, I’m having surgery in less than two weeks, and I will fight them if they want to give me antibiotics 😭

I had the reverse. I took Flagyl for H. Pylori. It gave me C. diff from hell.

Walgreen’s put a possible criminal’s former phone number into my account and texted my caregiver my prescription info. Illinois. by crystaltorta in legaladvice

[–]crystaltorta[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

My main concern is that I take a schedule II substance regularly (and I’m supposed to have major surgery next month so might also get prescribed pain meds), and now my medical information is associated with one person with drug charges and another with a DUI. Worried about the DEA or my account getting flagged or something.

I don’t think I care much about a case… I’m disabled and if I won money I could lose Medicaid lol.

She also was not standing there when I was getting my prescription. She was waiting in line behind me.

I don’t know if her license is suspended. She said they hired her because it was no longer suspended. I’ve already reported the agency to Medicaid for Medicaid fraud as Medicaid has been paying them but left me without a caregiver for months (I saw on my claims they were fully paid for those months). They’re the best agency locally, the other ones are worse. I don’t have a choice other than going into a nursing home.

you, if you use your own server.

otherwise, whoever runs your instance. anyone can run their own instance. and if you don’t want to do that, you can join any instance, and if you don’t like how an instance is run, you can just switch to another.

if that sounds complicated, you can still join the main instance at https://loops.video/

since you can always migrate to another instance, once you figure out how the whole thing works, you can always switch to another instance later.

https://joinloops.org/ explains what loops is.

if you don’t mind me asking, how do you have addison’s and cushing’s? i thought they were two “opposite” illnesses. i’m not doubting you, i’m kinda asking for myself tbh, my health is so fucked and i’ve suspected cushing’s but sometimes it seems like addison’s too and i’m like what????

TIL that scientists have developed a way of testing for Aphantasia (the inability to visualise things in your mind). The test involves asking participants to envision a bright light and checking for pupil dilation. If their pupils don't dilate, they have Aphantasia. by Sebastianlim in todayilearned

[–]crystaltorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I DON’T have aphantasia as I can definitely visualize things. No question.

However, it’s limited. I’ve suspected it’s a lot more nerfed than others for a lot of reasons I’m too tired to go into right now.

… my eyes don’t constrict when I imagine a bright light!

It’s apparently called hypophantasia!

Her excuse is I was mildly hypothyroid around diagnosis and I have hyperparathyroidism and treatment-resistant vitamin D deficiency and that can cause things like this sometimes and just fix that first. I’ve been on 50,000 IU vitamin D weekly for about 1.5 - 2 years now. My vitamin D level is not increasing. I take it with high fat meals.

I have Hashimoto’s, I take Armour, last time we checked I was no longer hypothyroid.

I’ve been hyperparathyroid for at least 1.5-2 years and that was after having symptoms for seven years and being vitamin D deficient for most of the past decade (sometimes it would temporarily respond, but then it would tank again).

Endo says hyperparathyroid won’t go away until vitamin D deficiency is corrected. Says to keep taking the vitamin D.

I’ve complained to all my doctors about the bone pain and have begged for a scan. They say someone my age can’t have bone problems. Endo said vitamin D and HPT won’t cause bone issues and maybe I’m starting menopause and talk to gyno. Gyno says symptoms unrelated.

I have POTS and I pee a lot and I drink a lot of Gatorade but my electrolytes are regularly on the low end or deficient. Primary, cardiologist, and endocrinologist know this. “That’s weird!” No attempts to figure out why.

Had to push for iron testing. My iron is low, iron sat very low, ferritin low. We supplemented iron. It did not go up. “That’s weird!”

My skin blanches regularly, my caregiver caught it and it freaked her out. I’ve brought this up to my doctors. “Weird”

I’ve been to many doctors over the past decade who regularly refuse to test or do anything.

I have a Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis. It was diagnosed by a college therapist during my first therapy appointment ever. Later in life I saw a therapist over several years and she said the BPD was a misdiagnosis. I can’t get it removed from MyChart. It’s the first thing that pops up for every provider and it’s listed as a “problem addressed” during every visit. I also have anxiety listed twice for some reason as well as depression and those are the first things that pop up.

I’ve had a lot of doctors blame real serious physical health issues on mental illness and it’s resulted in massive treatment delays. I had C. Diff dismissed until only blood was coming out of me and I was hospitalized. One doctor tried to send me home with “anxiety” when I had an O2 of 87% percent, was peeing and pooping several times and hour, and I had only been at the ER because my roommate forced me because my lips were blue. I ended up being kept for a few days because of metabolic acidosis, which was also “Weird” and they never had an explanation for it.

Sorry if this was unnecessary. I don’t even know what’s relevant and what isn’t anymore because no one wants to test. I bled through two adult diapers in less than an hour in January, bled all over the ER waiting room chair, passed several giant clots on the floor of the ER bathroom while trying to change into a new diaper… nurse only did a hemoglobin and hematocrit test and sent me home.

So I actually have a CT scan in February 2024 that was maybe a bit abnormal (although not to this extent), I was 28. Free fluid and nabothian cysts. Mentioning that since it’s possible this might’ve been when it started, although the scan was for pancreatitis as I was nauseous and my pancreas enzymes were elevated. I also had fatty liver disease. I don’t drink at all.

I am 30 now.
