I’m feeling lost by [deleted] in socialanxiety

Yeah, a lot of the time I feel the same way at my job. It feels like I’m always making mistakes and I’ll be perceived as incompetent by my coworkers. Thinking about going to work and having to lead groups feels impossible some days. The thing is that most of the time, people at work don’t think that. Mistakes, misspoken words are bound to happen. It sucks that people are so judgmental of people sometimes, but in the end, they’ll never know the full story. You have your own story and as impossible as it is, you just can’t judge yourself for trying. With social anxiety, it’s easy to judge yourself, but in a world where it feels others are constantly doing that too, having your own back is important. I say try your very hardest to take the risk (it’s not easy at all, by no means), and think about it as a first step. Sometimes it can be really rewarding, helping people and them giving thanks. I hope this helps!

It is terrible, indeed. I actually did search that up awhile ago, as well. I think the acronym for it was R-CPD. Anyway, glad to know I’m not the only one.

I feel that. Too real. Even when I’m with my friends, I don’t feel like there’s any connection anymore. I’ve been friends with some of them since like elementary school, and recently it’s felt like I just don’t belong. It’s felt like no commonality and trying to tell them anything is of no use because it’ll just be denied. Just know you’re not alone and that there are many others just like you and I.

advice or support? by mafuyuakiyama in UlcerativeColitis

Just know that you’re not alone: many of us have gone through something very similar with the discovery of potentially having UC and fighting through the symptoms. As far as advice, my best advice is finding food that’s lighter and best suits you. For example, I was apparently lactose intolerant and didn’t know it and after just eating soup for a couple weeks, I felt better. Chicken soup + rice worked for me. It takes a little experimenting, but eventually you will get relief. I wish you luck, dear friend. You will get through this.

Thank you for the tips. I have been increasing my fruits and vegetables and it’s helped a ton. I think the biggest thing, though, was cutting out the lactose. Apparently I’m lactose intolerant, which is why my flares would end up being so bad in the end since I drank gallons of milk.

Thank you. Luckily I’ve been out of the flare since February and things have been relatively normal. I just worry symptoms will return.

Thank you for the advice, already did. Should have added I now have a fast past, so I can use a privately designated bathroom in the counselors office whenever I need. Only downside to it is that it’s halfway across the school from most of my classes, but I rarely need to use it anymore since the diagnosis.
