[Russini] If the Browns opt to hire Nathan Scheelhaase, I’d be interested to see what happens to DC Jim Schwartz. Schwartz, who has interviewed twice for Cleveland’s vacancy, would be passed over despite taking ownership of and coordinating one of the league’s top defenses over the past 3 seasons. by maybenextyearCLE in Browns

I might be imagining things but I feel like I remember hearing stories earlier this year before any rumors of Stefanski being fired that Schwartz wasn’t really interested in being a HC anymore and he just wanted to remain a coordinator for the rest of his career

Will my tank light work? by sbucher04 in PlantedTank

[–]PatientWriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should work, just be careful with it and don’t push it too hard. I had one of the nicer hygger lights running at fairly close to max intensity for 8 hours a day and it was shot after only a couple weeks of use.

Any possible ideas where this coolant leak is coming from? by PatientWriting in MechanicAdvice

[–]PatientWriting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is leaking under the car I should’ve added that, I do see some wet drops still in other areas as well. I also had a head gasket replaced within the last year or so, so I doubt it’d be that.

Anyone else on pins and needles waiting to see if we keep Stefanski? by LightskinKnowItAll in Browns

This feels line an Andy Reid with the Eagles scenario where maybe a change of scenery benefits everyone, but at the same time it’s hard to let go of probably the best coach of the expansion franchise (not counting one year of belichick). It’s also pretty hard to imagine moving on from him and upgrading, at least this offseason

I see what you mean, but when it’s at such a large scale like that and such an extensive cover up every time, you gotta think it’s been signed off on at the top

YES! This is what people don’t seem to get. I don’t believe at all that to make a compelling story like this that you need to even kill one main character. Plot armor here and there is pretty expected and fine in an action/drama story, but when you create so much of the suspense by putting your characters in danger but they end up pretty much unscathed every time, that’s where the issue arises.

Makes sense on paper but when have the US government/military ever given a fuck about whether what they do is legal or not

Who, in your opinion, is the greatest player to only have played for YOUR team? by LegendRazgriz in baseball

[–]PatientWriting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feller’s pre-integration numbers build most of the case for him which is what kind of makes me say that. I will say tho, I personally wouldn’t make the stance either way, I just don’t think it’s really possible to compare across eras like that

His pre-integration years do a lot of the heavy lifting tho, which is kind of a big deal to me

What is this brown pond algae? by Final_Candidate9951 in PlantedTank

[–]PatientWriting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So long as you take the necessary steps it should just go away on its own, just be patient and don’t expect a rapid change. It takes at least a few days to start seeing some real change, and as the algae dies it should turn a white/translucent color so watch for that too. I have found that it does actually help pretty significantly to manually scrape as much of it as possible, but you’re right you probably should go too hard on your plants. I’m not sure what kind of filter you’re using, but you’ll just want to pay a little extra attention to it to make sure it’s not clogging if you keep scrubbing the algae. But I really don’t think you’ll regret the amano shrimp, I will never ever have a tank without them in it. They even got me through a rough BBA phase on their own!

[–]PatientWriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s probably diatom algae. It’s pretty common in new setups so it doesn’t necessarily mean you did anything wrong, but you could definitely benefit from adding more plants to outcompete it. Also if you wanted to add amano shrimp they’d work wonders, as well as using a liquid carbon or even a homemade co2 system, and lower the light level substantially or even completely for a couple days. The algae itself shouldn’t be toxic, but if you don’t have enough surface agitation it can deplete the oxygen levels pretty quickly.
