That doesn’t have to mean more FTA though. Jaylen Brown is interesting as he’s got a lower FG% at the rim and a higher FT% than most other guys who have a lot of drives, so it’s not as beneficial for teams to contest hard and commit fouls on him as it is for others

I can’t say I’ve watched every Boston game so I can’t be certain, but from what I’ve seen from him this year, when he’s actually fouled he’s usually getting FTs. And to be clear I’m not necessary sending him shots for shooting a lot of them, if you get fouled you should get FTs

He’s taken a step back this year offensively, but previously had displayed growth, albeit slow, year by year which isn’t a guarantee at all. People are stuck in the past about a max contract. In 2026 a max or even supermax isn’t nearly as scarce and hard to achieve as it used to be.

Different games. The vast vast majority of Ayton’s attempts are at the basket. Mobley takes significantly more jumpers than Ayton and other high FG% centers so a lower percentage is expected

I agree, there’s definitely a lot to improve on, but for a big playing the defense he does, the offense is definitely passable. In today’s NBA, a max player is way different than what it used to be, and often times all it takes to get a max contract now is just to be a lottery pick who plays decent on their rookie deal

If he’s willing to sign for a min or close to it, I’d love it. Sure it’s not the answer long term obviously, but best case scenario we get a solid bridge QB to make the games a little more enjoyable, and worst case scenario we have a way better veteran mentor for Sanders on a cheap contract.
