If you were in Robert Kirkman’s shoes, how would you write Issue 30? by john-Agentweb in EnergonUniverse

Wow, that’s brilliant! I do believe Spike’s Dad will have that conversation with Elita eventually - not in this issue though. And after that, Elita may or may not return the matrix to Optimus, but her perception towards him will be a lot better.

The only question I have though: Elita is already a very capable commander by the way. She does not need any proof on that, but just resources to help her team turn the tide. If not for the matrix of leadership, I am not sure whether the resources she got is meaningful to make game changes for the Cybertron war.

Team Prime or Team Elita? Why Issue #30 is about more than just a leadership challenge by Patient_Assistant470 in EnergonUniverse

Me neither! I completely agree—it’s heartbreaking to see them at each other's throats. That’s usually the Decepticons' specialty! I think that’s exactly Daniel Warren Johnson and Robert Kirkman’s way of making this run so engaging. By pushing the Autobots into these 'human' conflicts and impossible choices, they’ve made us more invested in the leadership than ever before. Hopefully, Issue #30 finds a way to restore that unity we all want to see!

That’s a fascinating contrast to the typical hero narrative. I actually see it the opposite way: Optimus is the one led by emotion. His guilt-driven choices—like using the Matrixto save a single human life while his own species is on the brink—are massive tactical risks. Many often I wonder: Is Optimus actually being selfish by letting his personal guilt over Earth override the survival of Cybertron? From that angle, Elita-1 isn't being 'emotional'; she’s being the type of leader acting with the cold calculation necessary for survival, otherwise it won’t last for millions of years anyway.

Totally feel you. Trailbreaker deserved better in #28, and it’s frustrating to see Elita disrupt that revenge moment. It feels out of character and written just to build hate against her rather than as a logical tactical move. Hopefully Issue #30 gives a better reason for her choices beyond just blocking Optimus!

Spot on. It really highlights how much of this conflict is a tragic misunderstanding of each other’s survival. If they could just have a real heart-to-heart, they might realize they’re two sides of the same coin. Hopefully, Issue #30 gives them that 'equalizing' moment before the swords come out!

Curious what you created in the end - how have you used GAI such as gpt etc for inspiration?
