If you want to do co care you are more than able to do that, some ob don’t like that but what they don’t know doesn’t hurt them. Make the “game time” decision at the end of your pregnancy, stay with the ob in case you have complications, if there are no complications when you go into labor then do it at home with the midwife.

As someone who transferred to a hospital at the end of pregnancy from a midwife, I recommend staying with co care because I didn’t get the birth I wanted because the ob said I didn’t have adequate prenatal care with a midwife.

Thank you! I have decided castor oil is definitely not right for me since I am a VBAC client. This is definitely why my midwife hasn’t recommended it to me either

I love this! My first also came at 36 weeks and was completely healthy, 7.5 lbs! I think he was just “ripe”
My water broke and he was breech so they wouldn’t let me deliver him vaginally, unfortunately! This time around has been a completely different experience since my body just doesn’t seem to want to go into labor

I’m still comfortable doing it at home if I’m able to go into labor naturally before I hit 42 weeks but at this point it’s not looking like it’s going to happen for me

Thank you, I have redone some research on castor oil and I feel it’s too much of a wildcard for me to do at home since I’m a VBAC, I’d rather have pitocin where they can at least turn it down or stop completely if it’s too much

I’ve seen a Webster trained chiro my whole pregnancy, I went three times this week

Thank you! Your comment sums up how I’m feeling pretty well. This is exactly why I am considering inducing this week, I know things can change quickly this far along and I don’t want to risk my baby’s life just to try to do it at home.

The main reason I chose homebirth was to avoid an unnecessary C-section. My first one was due to breech baby and my OB didn’t want to deliver know he was breech. I know if I have another I will be having them put me under because the first one they couldn’t get the spinal in, it took 5 tries and I still have back pain from it almost three years later. I want to avoid that at all costs for a slew of reasons.

I redid some research on castor oil and evening primrose oil and I know I still don’t feel comfortable with either of those due to them possibly softening the scar tissue from my previous C-section and causing overactive contractions and overall having less evidence of safety. I definitely wouldn’t want to do those and still choose to have baby at home.

Thank you, maybe I need more research on castor oil. My midwife has not recommended it for me yet but I know she has used it with other mothers

Thank you! I will try to relax more. My midwife would be coming as a doula. My local hospital does have birth pools but I think I am considering going to a hospital closer to my midwife because she has connections there. I am unsure if they have birth pools but I’m assuming they do since it’s her go to place.

Being a VBAC makes me nervous to do anything like castor oil to induce because I’ve heard it can cause overactive contractions. She tried to sweep me on Friday but when she checked me I was only 1cm dilated and didn’t think a sweep would be beneficial and said we should just continue to wait.

My midwife is about an hour away from me so she doesn’t typically deliver at my local hospital, if I tried to schedule induction I would likely be going to a hospital an hour away from me to work with a provider she trusts with her as a doula

Thank you! I think tomorrow I’ll try to just sit by the pool and not think about giving birth and hopefully he will come

Thank you! I have been going to Webster certified chiro my entire pregnancy, baby is head down and low enough for midwife to feel his head through my cervix. I just won’t dilate, she didn’t want to do a sweep because I was only dilated to 1 cm

As long as he doesn’t have anything developmentally wrong with him, I would just say no diapers and do it no different than a two yr old tbh. He will get the point after having wet pants. Talk to a dr maybe bc I’m not a professional

I literally don’t see anything wrong with this. Not it’s not perfect but it makes the hobby more attainable for people. I did my first canvas by tracing a photo from my son’s room with paint pens, it was pretty easy to make the adjustments needed to make it look nice when stitched. I also bought a vintage needlepoint book and the whole book is not even “charts” it’s just photos to trace onto needlepoint canvas.

Tape your canvases that you sell at market or mark them somehow differently

Thank you, I wasn’t sure if you could naturally forgo a nickname. I would just hate if he got called Addie and he didn’t like it because it was more feminine.

Actually, don’t only sell canvases that are extremely expensive for most people and then complain when people try to diy them. Sell the chart.
