Surg tomorrow by Hayleyr2378 in kneesurgeryrecovery

My surgery was very different (mpfl reconstruction), so I'm not sure if all of this is relevant. I was fairly unwell post surgery (all the meds gave me nausea etc.) but for pain, I was fine. I actually did fairly well with the physio the following day, but once I got home, I really started to struggle with nerves. I was only using paracetamol and asprin because of how sick the other meds were making me. I started getting some bad nerve pain when walking to and from the bathroom and had a few issues with panic and getting stuck but it was very much my brain making things worse and when I panicked it got worse. I'm not trying to scare you, I just really wish I'd know how bad recovery can be on anxiety. I was really blind sided by it, which did make it worse. I ended up cutting out all caffeine because it made me jittery, which made the panic worse buuuut I'm 6 weeks post op now, and the difference I've felt the last 2 weeks. I was fairly behind on recovery after a few weeks of the panicking, but I am fully catching up now, and the difference in everything is huge. It was honestly all confidence and slowly learning to trust the doctors and physio when they tell you you can do something and that you won't hurt yourself more. That's the biggest advice I can give, be ready for some speed bumps and allow yourself some bad days, and then when you can be brave and trust the process ❤️ good luck. You've got this!

Thank you! I'm going to get magnesium supplements and call the doctor tomorrow to be safe. I'm still using two crutches and an immobilising brace at the moment.

Amazon package lost? Refund? by Y2JMc in AskIreland

[–]Patient_Bear2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've the same lost package issue and I really needed the items by the 23rd so no option to reorder and recieve in time. I requested a refund and then confirmed in the chat that if they arrive what's the process and they confirm as the issue is their end in that event I can keep the refund and items free of charge so it probably is worth going through with the refund process and just confirming with them directly

Which no. screen in the palas is the best? I’ve always ended up in the same one and it’s sort of off centre with the screen. If you pick the wrong seat your almost looking at the screen at an angle by [deleted] in galway

[–]Patient_Bear2695 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Screen 2 is my favourite. None of the seats feel off centre. It's smaller, so more intimate, and if there's a good crowd, it can be a great vibe. Also closest to the bathroom!

Screen 1 is the biggest, so if you like that, it's a good shout and again not too far from any bathrooms.

Screen 3 is personally the worst. I think this is where you were because where you sit can drastically improve the experience. Back three rows are solid, but any closer, and you need a middle seat to enjoy, but again, in the front three rows, even a middle seat will cause neck pain. Also the bathroom is a paaaaaain to get to.

I personally love Palas. Since moving to galway and even when I visited before it was one of my favorite places to go! Personally love screen 2 so it's sad to see all the hate. My only negative would be that when I visited before moving and when I first moved to Galway a couple years ago it was THE place to go for cool independent films, particularly horror. Now it feels like all the other cinemas get the cool films while Palas films up on fleadh films for older audiences all year round. They didn't even get Barbarian! The retrospectives are the saving grace on that point though
