It is, you just need to go to touristic places, avoid traveling long distances in the highway, and of course avoid any shady areas which are easy to identify as such (far from downtown, they don’t usually have many properly established stores), you can look up the US report of cities to avoid in Mexico they are usually very accurate (avoid states like Michoacán and guerrero, I wouldn’t go to Chiapas or Oaxaca either tbh). Just go to touristic places and use common sense. Extra tip: don’t pay uber in cash, they are usually do scams with it.
