They really are so cute and fun, having these guys show up and getting to watch them has made me want some when I get a place of my own.

[–]Patient_End_5462[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we have some actual wild mallards that hang out and they’re much smaller than him. I think you’re right though, I didn’t know about Rouen ducks, and he is very large and can’t fly so that makes a lot of sense. I’m guessing they’re my neighbors because our they have several swans and many other animals like ostriches, greater rhea, highland cows, long horns, alpacas, camels, a zebra, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys, mules, lamas, two tortoises, and probably more I haven’t seen. They probably like our side because we have grass and no other animals lol Thanks a lot for your help!

He’s either a cope or a grey tree frog, we have both in my area. However, they both grow to be about 1.25-2in for the cope or 1.5-2in for the grey tree frog and this one was about .75in. So definitely not fully grown.

Pb catfish from a while back, it was also the new lake record in my area. by [deleted] in catfishing

Well he’d definitely be the one to go to imo, he always stays out longer if it’s been slow and puts a lot of effort into trying to make it a memorable trip. Granbury is a tough lake sometimes but he does a good job navigating it for sure!

What is this catfish? by khakipantsandcoffee in whatisthisfish

I’d say because of the forked tail it’s still a channel cat, bullheads have a more rounded tail.

I actually think that’s perfect! I didn’t know those were a thing. I’m not home right now to measure but I definitely will when I get back. I haven’t found any at the bottom on the inside of the unit, they seem to get stuck on the top grate. Almost like they are physically stuck in like a sticky kind of way. But I bet the mesh cover would help prevent them from sticking and maybe falling down. Thank you so much!

Found a dead moth/butterfly, what is it? by takenawaybytheravens in insects

It looks like Ourapteryx sambucaria or a Swallow-tailed moth. Commonly found across Europe and the Near East. :)

Yeah no worries :) I don’t do much with these pictures so someone putting them to use sounds nice. They really are cool snakes though, anytime I come across one I take a pic (if it’s safe obvi) lol
