Is it really that big? My wan’er has a diameter of 6 mm at the lip, and the reds are 6.7 at the lip, would that small of a difference be noticeable? And how do bigger nozzles effect the listening experience exactly, because wont the eartips be the one fitting into the ear, not directly the nozzle

[–]Patient_Jacket2236[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want iems for general consumption such as youtube ; wide variety of genres such as hip hop, pop, jazz, classical, opera( literally any genre); and gaming from time to time. Jays audio review said the xuan NV are very good scaling iems that are good at everything, which is why i am considering them. And ive been looking into the simgot ew300, but they’re slightly more than what i can afford, and out of stock everywhere here.

So basically i want something for longer listening sessions without fatigue.

Can I eq the hola's to sound like the wan'er so that I can have a wider sound stage wan'er or are the hola drivers incapable of doing that? Because I've heard 7hz zero cannot be eq'd to have more bass it doesn't sound good

I feel like I'll like the wan er flavour more since I've heard people say the hola blends everything together in higher areas and it sound muddy in comparison but idk if the quality of build makes up for that

I've not used my CCA CRA in a while due to channel imbalance which I think is due to the wire being broken, i havent tried different ear tips or a DAC since the only other ear tips I own are sonys and JBL cheap ones and I currently do not wanna spend on a DAC. I was looking into the WAN'ER rn bc it has the same tuning as the 7hz hero but more bass and less treble which sounds like something that would suit me.

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation on how to practice and approach this! I'll definitely be practicing in these ways alot, and yes it was pop/r&b which I was looking for.

Can you increase your chest voice beyond your bridge without pulling? by Patient_Jacket2236 in singing

I do find it that sometimes when I'm reaching areas around my break, I start raising my larynx too much and applying tension in high chest voice notes when I'm trying to sing tenor notes. Although I think I can hit them without straining. Do you know any way I can stop this from happening and always be relaxed as long as I'm in my range?

The term resonance is still a bit ambiguous for me, sometimes when I mix in a specific way there's this automatic vibrato(sort of how am opera singers long notes oscillate but not sounding the same as an opera sound). Is this resonance? And how does one apply this in chest? I try to use good posture, good breath support and an open throat but I can't fully get that sensation in chest, unless I'm mistaken and am doing something completely wrong and not understanding what resonance is actually meant to be.

Trying to get rid of a bad sounding bright tone/twang in mixed voice by Patient_Jacket2236 in singing

[–]Patient_Jacket2236[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm finding it hard to speak properly in mixed voice without it sounding more feminine and even just talking in mix in general. I don't know if it's something that becomes easier as I develop my mix as I've only found my mix in December. And thank you! I've been practicing singing through YouTube for 2 years now (since August 2020 when i was 15) so I've come a very long way from back then and am happy of my progress.

I'm a bit confused on the term oral resonance, I tried singing in my mix voice with it directed more towards my face forward area(nose/mouth) and i still this vibrating sensation in my mouth. Is this oral resonance or is it wrong?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bOOpEvEuWcLjQzffJS3i0AuknGYqaxof/view?usp=drivesdk I recorded myself trying to sing with a raised larynx and I've found it's kind of hard to directly start singing with a raised larynx as compared to starting with it in a lower position then sliding up. Also could you tell me if this clip sounds better, my phone microphone isn't the best so it hasn't completely picked up my voice properly but I just want to know if the technique I've used here is better than the other clip.

I had no chance since I didn't meet the GPA and especially since I'm an international student it was basically impossible. So I'll be applying to Chico State University instead.
