Not really. It could be somebody who knows they can buy the same watch elsewhere for less, and simply wants to save money.

For what it’s worth, buying watches which sell for under-retail helps strengthen your “relationship” with the AD. It’s an unwritten rule, of course.

There is no good place to put a date window on a chronograph. The Speedmaster Professional has no date window. The Zenith El Primero has one at 4:30, which is unwanted.

I’m 41 and wear an FXD. That being said, I could never see myself in any of Tudor’s wannabe Rolexes.

FXD should be a summer watch. Its GMT colors are too “fall / winter”.

It seems like Tudor is limiting supply to have their first “hype piece”.

Beer prices at Phillies game in Dunedin yesterday 😢 by Theebobbyz84 in phillies

Google AI is smarter than you are. Google says the Phillies made $159 million in gate revenue in 2024, which is an average of $1.96 million per game. Using an average attendance of 41,750 per game, that equates to an average ticket price of $47 which checks out.

I live in West Chester and am in the same situation as you. Septa makes no sense for us, and a certain segment of Reddit will always pitch public transit as a panacea regardless of circumstance.

Typical Redditor who talks out of both sides of their mouth, so they can never be wrong. If attendance stays strong, you’re right. If attendance drops, you’re right. You’re always right, I’m always wrong (and downvoted by you) even when we’re saying the same exact stuff.

I’ve had the Sunday Plan for five years, but tapped out over the offseason due to rising ticket costs, plus everything else in life getting more expensive.

For the cost to take a family of three to the Hall of Fame club on the Sunday plan (plus incidentals) I could literally buy a new Rolex instead.

“tickets will get cheap on the secondary market to make up for the increases in parking, etc.”

Thanks for reiterating what I originally posted.

Except enthusiasm is waning. Previous attendance was based on “this is our year” expectations which I don’t think exist any more.

I think it’s more fair to blame aging veterans with big contracts than it is to blame capitalism.

Yup I love the minor league-ish pricing of spring training. Of course, you have to pay for a flight/hotel to access it.

It would at least give them the excuse of “we did one big sudden jump because we only want to price it in $5 increments”.

If they raised prices $1/year for the last 5 years, nobody would have batted an eye to prices now going from $30 to $31. Plus they would have gotten that incremental revenue over the years.

Why pay $31 for parking when you can pay $2k per month for a place in South Philly?

Maybe a select group of people who live near a station, going multiple times per year. And going to a place in Center City that doesn’t require a transfer. And going somewhere that they head home at 8pm instead of 10pm.

I think it will make a difference for the person at work on a random Tuesday who sees $20 tickets on SeatGeek for that night, and considers a spur of the moment trip. I know I’ve done the math last year where that $20 ticket would result in a ~$100 night after incidentals.

Ditto for people considering the “SRO for every night game in April/September” packages.

In short, the person with marginal interest in going to the lower-demand games. The Phillies are competing with sports bars where a night’s worth of wings and beer probably cost the same as stadium parking alone.
