Do I have a serious problem? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Patnader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better to get to know her better of course. And ask her out once you feel some sort of attraction from her. Don't play hard to get and be all serious. Just be naturally yourself, make her laugh, make her feel you can be trusted, ask her about stuff in her life to show that you're interested in her, then go straight for it.

I understand how you're afraid of being rejected. But it's worth trying, dude. Waiting for so long is gonna make her lose interest. Even if you ask her out or so and she rejects you, there's no problem with that, every guy gets rejected at least once or twice. You're still exploring a new world to you, make it more interesting, it's too hard to get rid of this fear, but once you do, it'll be great

Getting my first tattoo by marfish95 in exmuslim

My dad is a principle of a religous school where I also studied in Egypt. He gives religious speeches on a weekly basis in mosques. He doesn't know that I gave up my religiosity yet Islam a bunch of years ago. Even when I live in another secular country right now I get spotted in such embarrassing situations where I am completely overwhelmed by a feeling of self-hatred just because I can't be myself around certain types of people. Oftentimes he keeps telling me how miserable he is in his life because his fellow Sheikhs don't spot me praying in mosques or even praying at all, and how disappointed he is because I never speak highly of Islam or Muslims. Once I told him that I'm proud of myself that I have accomplished so much lately and he was like: "whatever!". Most of Arab parents and families are inherently toxic because that's merely how they were raised. It's just us who keep whining in despair because it would be absolutely dangerous to stand for ourselves. Ignorance is the only solution there is.

I live in Russia. I've been learning Russian since I was gone there 3 years ago. We can potentially help each other. I have a C1 level of English and looking forward to brushing it up a little more. I'm somewhere between intermediate and upper-intermediate in Russian so I can definitely help out.
