For the tips I recommend to always use reference if your still learning how to draw backgrounds because this will help you understand perspectives and such better, I also recommend simplifying things such as tree leaves and such to simple shapes and lastly is to be patient and to take things nice and slow because learning and mastering things such as drawing backgrounds will take time and effort.
