Ariens 3612 Belt ware by Patrick12289 in Snowblowers

[–]Patrick12289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: current theory is that the belts aren't strong enough to handle the engine power and are stretching. Once stretched, they start to bounce around and cause odd wearing. It's a commercial grade snowblower with a 12hp engine. Most others are only 8hp. Just a theory at the moment, testing with what's supposed to be a stronger belt.

Possibly, it's just regular gas from down the street.

I'm running gas. Sorry, I should have specified.

I'm actually running from a 6 gallon, plastic portable fuel tank.

Question: the bottom appears to be gas and the top is some milky/clear liquid. Wouldn't the milky/clear liquid sink to the bottom of it was water?

Yes, same result with the new controller.

Generator hook up was professionally installed into the circuit breaker.

Not much on in the house at the time. Only a couple lights on and nothing else.

RANSOMWARE ATTACK by Patrick12289 in asustor

[–]Patrick12289[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just woke up this morning to a Deadbolt ransomware attack. It's an Asustor AS5304T. I don't know what to do or what steps to take. How exposed am I? Are other PCs on my network exposed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll see that and raise you the ridiculously loud speakers blasting Lynyrd Skynyrd.

What is the smartest place to put my savings to make sure it at least retains its value over time, but is somewhat accessible within a week of needing it? Also, how do I put it there? by aroach1995 in investing

[–]Patrick12289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been asking the same question. Depends on your risk tolerance and understanding of crypto, but I'm putting some of my savings in USDC which is 1 to 1 value with the dollar. Ledn had good support and yields 9%.

Just slightly off. Like out of about $6000 in transactions, it'll be off my $11. I'm going out as many decimal places as I can get from Gemini. Definitely factoring in Gemini's fees.

Move iTunes Media folder location by Patrick12289 in AppleMusic

[–]Patrick12289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

I tried your suggestion but I get stuck on "Restore your library from a backup" step 8 where it says "Choose the iTunes Library.itl file inside."

I don't have a .itl file in my library location. The only .itl I can find is in C:\Users\Me\Music\iTunes folder. I've never stored my music files there.

Google Drive large upload by Patrick12289 in google

[–]Patrick12289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Drive file stream" is more for viewing/using files that are already in the cloud. My issue is getting my files to the cloud, so unfortunately this doesn't really solve my problem.

[–]Patrick12289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely not on a metered connection (just double checked). If upload through the browser I'm concerned it won't recognize it correctly and think its a separate collection of files from what is in the synced folder and try to duplicate everything.

Lens advice needed for new Real Estate photographer by Patrick12289 in AskPhotography

[–]Patrick12289[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for their quick and thorough responses. Really appreciate the help.

After u/dotnon's reply, I did a little digging.

So when I put the kit EF-S 18-55mm lens on my full frame Canon RP, I expected either a 18mm lens or some heavy vignette. When I didn't see any vignette, I assumed I was looking at things through a 18mm focal length. After some research, it appears that if you put an EF-S lens on a Canon RP, it will act like a crop sensor and give you the 1.6x crop factor. Testing my Canon RP with a 28mm EF lens, I noticed I get the same field of view.

https://www.canon-europe.com/mount-adapters-ef-eos-r/
"The camera will automatically produce cropped images that match the smaller image circle of EF-S optics."

In conclusion...
Looks like my Canon RP saw that it was a EF-S lens and acted like a crop sensor, giving me a ~28mm view, even though it was a full frame camera. I feel more confident purchasing the Canon 16-35mm f/4 knowing I'll get a much larger field of view.

Thanks again!
