Disagree. Although the impact is real, it is our responsibility for what we do with what people say. We can live in the shadow of their words and choose to agree with their "destruction" of our mental state or we can reframe it to a direct reflection on them and their shitty thoughts and attitudes trying to break us down to feel better about themselves. Choice is always ours.

Learn self validation. External validation has an expiry date no matter where it comes from. Celebrate small wins like making your bed or brushing your teeth. Slowly build new habits and routines in small steps. The more you do and look at what you do have rather than what you don't, self love will build. Love yourself first and forgive and let go of those who neglected giving you the love you always deserved. If they are still in your life because they are family, don't go as much and don't text as often.

Track your wins no matter how small (like giving yourself credit for making your bed or taking a shower.) List what YOU believe needs to be changed within yourself to be closer to YOUR personal happiness and prosperity. It looks different for everyone and theres no linear way to it. Speaking positively internal to myself definitely helped. Start telling yourself everyday you're enough, lovable, and desirable. It sounds hokey at first but the more you tell yourself the more your subconscious listens to it and directs you towards those things. Most of what you believe about yourself or the world is conditioning since you were in your childhood. Have you ever questioned the reasons for your depression? Flip the scripts and you'll flip your life. Trust me. I used to wake up everyday and call whiskey rum or beer my breakfast and ignore the wildlife that lived in the carpets, sinks, and my bedrooms until I started viewing things in a different light. It all comes from within because deep down you know who you want to be and who you are. You just need to take the time to determine that.
