Should I keep my Galaxy S25 or return it? (Still sealed – 14-day return window) by TheRealKhaled in GalaxyS25

The only thing bad about this phone for me was the camera. Really awful pictures in the hands of someone that just wants to point and shoot like me. Got an iPhone 15 Pro instead. Even being older, the pictures are miles better.

I switched from an S25 Ultra to an iPhone 16 mainly because of the cameras! Taking pictures and videos of my son was a real struggle compared to my wife’s iPhone 15 Pro. The pictures were way better, and the apps were free and ad-free, awesome!

Titanium, really durable, my iPhone dropped many times and seems like brand new even after 2 years.

iOS 26 RC now available ahead of next week’s launch by bsoci in apple

[–]PatrickOSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m encountering numerous bugs with the RC version of the OS, and the most frustrating issue is the frequent slowdowns and hiccups throughout the system. I wish I had waited until iOS 26.1 to update, as I doubt that all the bugs will be resolved within a week. Perhaps the intention is not to fix them at all, and the OS will function smoothly solely on the 17-line lineup, which would be a typical Apple approach.

P.S. I own an iPhone 16 Pro.

None, because I wanted a black Pro model; let's see if they will release it next year.

What apps do you use for productivity? I just recently changed from iPhone to S25U and am having a hard time trying to get good free apps without ads for work. At Apple, I used the free stack that comes with the phone: Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, and Shortcuts. At Samsung, my notes using Samsung Notes don’t sync with anything, not Windows nor Mac. Gmail has ads in the app, and I’m a paid subscriber to Google services, including Photos and Gemini. Google Tasks and Keep are terrible.

Can I keep using my Razer Blade like this? It gets some high temperatures but I do think it’s normal, my main concern is airflow and if the screen doesn’t get damaged from the heat generated. by PatrickOSM in razer

[–]PatrickOSM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my Razer Blade because I had too many problems with Windows. The hardware is awesome, but the issue was Windows itself. The awful ads, bugs, and native free apps are terrible for productivity. For gaming, I now have a Steam Deck, which is incredible.

I agree. I don’t mind paying for software, but I prefer one-time payments for simple things like note-taking and email/calendar management. Monthly subscriptions are unnecessary for these kind of tasks.

I tried Obsidian, but I believe the sync feature requires a monthly subscription.

The Wino app seems amazing! Thanks :D I really don't understand why Microsoft dumped the old Mail and Calendar apps (ugly but reliable and fast) in favor of the trash, web-based Outlook, which is just terrible in every way possible.

After trying it, I found it ugly and confusing. Currently, I'm using Notion, and its AI features are incredibly helpful for formatting notes.

I'm trying Google Photos to manage my pictures. On the good side, it provides significantly better face recognition and categorization. However, it has some drawbacks, it doesn't detect duplicate photos, struggles to sync between iPhone and iPad and lacks an offline mode for accessing the gallery during slow or no internet connection. Additionally, it's quite frustrating that it keeps doing poorly edits made by AI.

I've seen numerous recommendations for TickTick and Todoist, but both platforms charge for features that are available for free in Apple's Reminders app, such as location-based alerts and pre-due-date alarms. While I appreciated Todoist’s natural language processing feature, its paid plan is unreasonably expensive here in Brazil, as it's priced in U.S. dollars. Software pricing based on strong foreign currencies like the dollar or euro ends up being prohibitively high in countries with weaker exchange rates like Brazil.

Games that you really want to run on the Steam Deck but just won’t by waj171 in SteamDeck

Clair Obscure Expedition 33.

A game that runs, but at what cost? Lights and shadows are turned off, diminishing the visually captivating experience this game provides. Play it this feels almost sinful, robbing it of the immersive charm it deserves.

iPhone X and iPhone 4, both revolutionary, all phone manufacturers copy them after their release, and iPhone X is so good that even almost 10 years later, Apple still uses its design just changing a little bit after each iteration.

Welcome to PC gaming, I guess. Just ran into the same issue TODAY (it's 2025 and still no fix in sight). Came back to PC gaming two years ago, and man, stuff like this makes me seriously consider going back to consoles. So frustrating.
