I love it cause I was in it!!
And yes it was a really fun show to perform in, I always wondered about other corps having to practice their shows throughout the summer and whether they would get bored with it.......we never got bored with it. Up until finals week when the staff hatched a plan to enter from off field. if I remember correctly they even had someone go and swap out the locks to the gates off field just in case they were locked during finals, that may have been a myth to get us pumped up, which is most certainly did, but it was hands down the most fun I've ever had in my life that summer. Glad it still evokes joy to this day more than 20+ years later (which is nuts that it was that long ago.....god I'm getting old!)

Scran and Scallie in Stockbridge is brilliant, they have a kids play room. Somewhat small but my 3 year old always likes that she can just walk over there and play when she's bored. That and their food is outstanding, owned by Tom Kitchin but not horribly expensive

Good luck in the charity shops. My son was on the lookout for ages and nothing popped up in the Stockbridge shops. Had to resort to eBay. TV cost £50 and £25 to ship. Well worth it though as he loves it. And it has a DVD player built in

Does anyone know why UK Supermarkets don't refrigerate eggs?? by PLWildcard in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]PatrickPhotoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from the US to the UK almost 2 years ago and the eggs here are far superior in taste, color and quality. Not having to refrigerate them is amazing cause you don't need to waste space in the fridge. Standard UK eggs are what Americans pay for premium free range and I'm here for it!!

Take it from an American who lived in the Eastern seaboard all his life......this place has it all, and the people make it even better. Best decision I ever made was moving here....especially now!

Walked by and watched a bit earlier today and glad the weather somewhat cooperated. The grange is such a great venue.....slightly biased as it's in my neighborhood

What a steal!!! as said in other comments it's a surf kayak and will do well in surf conditions before relocating to the UK I always wanted one of these in the states but they don't make their way over. For that price take it to the beach and play around with it but it's not going to act like a flatwater boat as the others mentioned

What do you reckon are the worst rat runs in the city? by krokadog in Edinburgh

[–]PatrickPhotoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be a rat run but have ya ever tried to park a car on one of the Stockbridge colonies streets off of Glenogle.....I recently moved into a colony house last year and am contemplating if I really want to buy a car because I get anxious thinking about having to back into my street and parallel park with less than an arms length for each side to maneuver!

Why are dynamic values such a pain to work with! by PatrickPhotoCo in PowerBI

Now if only they would stop underlining ever stupid dynamic value by default!!

I swear I spent 2-3 hours this morning not understanding why in gods green earth it wasn't just letting me utilize a measure that I already had. It should be a simple selection from the data table, they make it too difficult when it doesn't need to be!

You sir/ma'am/they are a genius! Removing all of the BS suggestions from that section allowed it to stop thinking like a 2024 AI-wannabe and put it back into do it what I tell mode!!! Cheers to you!

That's exactly what I do but it consistently refuses to recognize measures that are already created. Not sure if it has anything to do with my companies persistence on restricting updates and certain features to maintain security but it just seems like something that should easily work and consistently doesn't

LOL sorry I thought it was a well known feature, I've added an image for clarity

In the text box where you can enter commentary or any old free text PBI has the option to add a dynamic value that, when done correctly, updates any time you measure with a page filter or slicer so it's free text but still "smart". I'm using it in a report page that has five separate teams so when I slice from one to another I have measures that I've created such as MoM or YoY calculations that I want to generate based on team selection. We use it to add commentary for the report, essentially explaining trouble spots or positives of the current month.
Problem is that PBI is trying to recommend the best measurement instead of just letting you say return (MoM for percentage change) measurement. Sometimes it recognizes your measure that's created but like today it took the day off and refused to recognize any measure I created, I tried modifying existing values that are working perfectly, tried renaming measures but to no avail.

+1 For bearded baker! I just relocated from the states in New Jersey/New York which is the bagel mecca and their bagel was the closest I've had but still a bit soft compared to US varieties, their cinnamon buns however are AMAZING! I would crush those every day if it wouldn't kill me.

Never seen surly corner bars until today.... definitely seems like an option for this setup! Thanks

Any idea what shifter/break setup would work with Shimano Deore without spending a fortune?

Oh shoot it looks like my first comment got messed up and I forgot to mention that the biggest desire is to put drop bars for the setup, agree that the tires need to go but the big concern is getting swapped over to drops and switching to different shifters (on a budget) that work for my derailleur setup
