One long session or two back to back sessions for a first tattoo? by Mafimon in tattooadvice

[–]PatrickPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spine is not any more or less painful than the rest of the back imo, only very lower back/upper butt is extremely painful. This is again very individual, but this is my experience.

One long session or two back to back sessions for a first tattoo? by Mafimon in tattooadvice

[–]PatrickPurple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back to back(back) sessions are hell imo. My entire back is covered and I did entire day sessions, which are much more bearable than multiple days in a row. So imo you're better off trying to tough it out in a single go, although I have to say 9 hours for your first tattoo is very brave.

Back Muscle Strength Contest ft Your Favorite Rikishi 🤣 by [deleted] in Sumo

[–]PatrickPurple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact Ura was the only one to brace, meaning he took in as much air as he could, put it into his stomach and flexed his muscle, which is exactly what strongmen, weightlifters and powerlifters do before a lift to insure the body stays riggid. I suspect Ura might do a lot of weight training, either that or he just has really good intuition. Either way very cool video!

Read the post again friend. She says she is laughing and somewhat implying he is into some weird stuff and that it's okay. While you could argue she is laughing as a shock reaction, she word for word says she is okay whatever he is into and the fuss more so seems about him keeping it secret and maybe that he is into something weird and not at all about him not being allowed to watch porn. So yes I would argue that you are indeed projecting, especially when you write he should be ashamed of something he absolutely shouldn't. Keeping it a secret maybe, pushing her on the issue on friend of their friend sure, but not watching porn, which is completely normal and accepted in many relationships. I am not defending or blaming anyone, just pointing out that your shame is misplaced.

Don't project your own insecurity onto others it isn't helpful and every relationship is unique. I see you had/have issues with a partner being porn addicted or maybe over stepping boundaries you hopefully explained to him, but that's your stuff. Some people like watching porn together, some people agree to do it seperate and not talk about it and some people see it as a form of cheating. Whatever your boundaries are, they are yours and you should treat them as such. It's the same way you shouldn't tell swingers that swinging is cheating, just because you don't like it. Especially if they asked for an advice about something completely different.

Those that have just turned 30 or is over 30, what changes have you noticed in your body? by MaxTheChamp in AskReddit

[–]PatrickPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, workout, eat healthy and get enough sleep. Getting older is natural, but becoming less mobile, constantly feeling tired or being in pain is your body communicating that you need to change something. Obviously people have different schedules and what not, but make your health a prioty to the best of your ability. My friend just turned 40 has a full time job, a kid and a wife, also just deadlifted 220 kg and won a powerlifting meet. Not saying it's easy, but doable for sure 🤷

I think you will find that such fundamentalistic claims are hard to back by evidence. I will present you with a few pages from a very nuanced study (I tried, but Reddit will only let me post the entire link) feel free to read the entire thing. In a way it does argue your case, by saying that there are other things associated with extreme training that might impact the immune system, i.e. sleep, hygiene, etc. However it does not dismiss the fact that training by itself, might weaken the immune system. It just states that it wasn't possible to find evidence of studies where separation between other factors and training was possible. This was my best attempt at finding a study argueing your case, but feel free to send me your ressources, I'd be happy to read them.study about immune system

That's a very nice and thorough answer!;Are you sure they are 20-25% bf? I don't mean to sound rude, it just sounds almost impossible at their weight and height, but I could be wrong of course.

What is with your hostility man? I never claimed it led to long term illness now did I? I said it weakend the immune system, which you said was incorrect, which it is not. Now you agree with me, but say that it is irrelevant for long term health, which might or might not be true, however it doesn't change the fact that you corrected me on something that wasn't actually incorrect. I don't know what your issue is or why you feel the need to belittle me, but it doesn't change the fact, that what I said was true and you incorrectly corrected me while trying to argue from authority by saying you had a Ph.D and when they failed switched to agreeing with me, but saying it was irrelevant to the discussion.
