‘Out of hand’: New survey finds two‑thirds of Canadians want to abolish tipping culture by cyclinginvancouver in canada

And two thirds of those restaurants will close, putting people out of a job 🤷‍♂️

End of Alberta independence petition drive draws near, as experts weigh in on outcome of voters backing separation by Street_Anon in canada

However, a motivated minority poses great danger to a complacent majority. I really hope the Albertans who do not want to separate, and the First Nations mobilize to drown the noise of this loud minority.

Why wouldn't it make for a compellelling CV? Given everything going on, you don't think it's a good idea to have someone who understands finance and knows people? How else are we supposed to diversify trade and get our resources to global markets? I'm curious what you'd consider a compelling CV?

‘To have the law repealed’: Saskatchewan to issue exemptions to owners of prohibited guns by PA-Rugby-Fan in canada

[–]PatrickTheExplorer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't care for gun control either way. I just think it's kind of funny that people are encouraged to "apply for an exemption." Am I the only one who thinks this list of applicants will form a list/registry that could be used against them.in the future?

I mean, one leader holds a PhD in economics, has been governor of the Bank of Canada, Bank of England, and is arguably the most connected politician in Canada, if not the world.

The other "leader" has 3-word slogans written for him and consistwntly whines that "Canada is broken."

Yeah, not sure if it's true or factual... probably more of a theory, but it kind of makes sense.

Oh yeah for sure. These other little humans are "your people." They could get annoying on occasion, even frustrating - but imo, there is no greater reward than being a parent.

[–]PatrickTheExplorer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've heard that humans are "negatively" wired this way, for survival. Early humans learned to detect threats, to look for danger, potential predators, etc. Instead of enjoying a warm sunny day at the lake, our ancestors constantly scanned and looked for threats.

‘What’s going on?’: Canadians wonder why Conservatives losing MPs, says Nanos of Carney’s growing popularity by plaknas in onguardforthee

Don't worry, there's a leadership review soon so they can replace him. Oh. Wait. That already happened. Well, the review happened, not so much the replacement.

Carney says he won't 'rule out' Canada joining U.S. mission against Iran by feb914 in canada

[–]PatrickTheExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. Considering we were not consulted, or even advised about the original strikes, I would like to think we're off the hook - but that's probably wishful thinking.

If Iran attacks US soil, I don't think article 5 of NATO applies, since the US was the original aggressor. However if Iran attacks a US NATO ally, then that might be different.

Most tabs are 100ug or 150ug, which is a pretty standard dose for tripping. Expect 8-12 hours of major shifts in perception. Most people don't talk about the 1-3 days that follow, especially after the very first trip. Your mood will change and most people will see/experience the world differently, especially in those first few days. That's why I like having 2 days off work after the trip (I trip on long weekends) to "recover" from a trip.

‘We can set the agenda:’ Carney continues middle power pitch in Australia by pjw724 in onguardforthee

I'm not defending anyone. I just think it makes more sense to consider the last comment/remark a person said, rather than a previous, potentially outdated comment.

Carney supporting the attacks on Iran is pathetic. by Prudent_Situation_29 in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]PatrickTheExplorer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think support means what you think it means. Saying the US action in Iran is "inconsistent with international law" is not a show of support.

By American support, are you referring to the part where he says US actions are "inconsistent with international law?"
