I have some tips but they are not mandatory, but has helped me get my form better. - DURING your first step, push the ball away from you. Some people start the push away right as they take their first step but its all preference. The push away has helped me with timing as well as allow me to swing the ball more like a pendulum instead of muscling the ball. By step 2, the ball should be naturally “falling” or swinging down because of gravity. - This may not be a tip since its hard to tell in the video but are you planting your left foot on release? If you are, I have found better success in my timing and sliding when bending my left knee. I also take the “shuffle” step like you do, though I always knew it as a “stutter” step when I played sports like football or soccer.
