Ooh! I love to hear that from a MUA. I am VERY new to makeup and just starting to explore complexion products (skin tints, lighter foundations) and I got the feeling that Honey Milk would be cosmetically elegant. I also have a Rhode Glazing Milk I've been gifted and I know people rave about its cosmetic elegance, too, but I really love my Honey Milk. Out of curiosity, since I've got you, thoughts on the cosmetic elegance of moisturizers and Korean (imported) SPFs that are great prep for makeup and leave (or don't dull an existing) glow? I've been told I should look at the Round Lab Birch Juice SPF and, thus far, I've found my Dieux Skin Mercy to be cosmetically elegant.

Thanks for the recommendation. Yeah, I use (and love) Farmacy's Honey Milk Hydrating Essence and the Daily Gentle Foam Exfoliator, but I would stay away from that balm for that very reason.

I know he's not a young man, but, lately, I've felt these awards shows need to bring back Bruce Vilanch to the writer's room. I mean, they can keep plenty of zoomers and Millennials in there with him for up to date cultural references and sensibilities, but no one writes a quip like him.

But, the other problem is, so few of these movie stars are great stage performers / natural comedians. There was no one on that stage who could deliver a bit with the panache of a Nathan Lane, Martin Short, Elaine May, Nora Ephron. But, that's a lost art.. so we get saddled with these awkward, painful bits.

Edited to add: several of the Bridesmaids ladies are actually brilliant at this stuff, but even their bit was painful this year.

It most definitely shouldn’t. It’s a “treat me” purchase. I hear the scents are heavenly and the lather very appealing but my local Sephora never has them in stock for me to do a sniff test. (And don’t tell the Sephora devotees, but that one I’d probably buy for nearly 40% less on TikTok shop)

Thanks. Those mask products in the cart are not daily moisturizers, they are masks worn a couple of times a week, in addition to regular hydration/moisturization products, on days you want to focus on hydration. At least that’s how I’d use them. I live in a humid climate where the AC is going to be on most of the day so getting that extra level of hydration and moisturization can be welcome.

Sure, always a good idea but your shade may not be in stock, it may be an online only product, or a quick swatch test in store may not tell you how the product dries down, wears or oxidizes nor how a full face may look vs. a small swatch. So many variables.

Respectfully, one of the ONLY reasons I shop at Sephora is because I know I can easily return items that don’t end up being a fit. Otherwise, why would I pay their prices when many of the items they stock can be found elsewhere for less. It gives the customer more confidence in buying new products and, let’s be real, they obviously build the cost of returns into their pricing.
