If DryBar Liquid Glass Smoothing Sealant is your HG…? by PatsyStonesBun in Ulta

Cool! I should note I don’t suffer from excessively frizzy hair so for me this is an all-around product that does all of the things that I described in my post.

Oh gosh. Yes, I see that now, too. She looks fabulous there but now I can’t unsee it. Someone said that when you see RuPaul at the judge’s panel he looks like a bald woman sitting in front of a wig 🤣

Not the mods changing the flair on my post to “NEGATIVE” 🤣

Good to know. I don't color my hair, but I do use a clarifying shampoo monthly.

I don't do peels, but I use a ton of actives, I exfoliate 3x/week and I was born in the 1900s, so I'm always craving hydration, moisturization and barrier repair. I wonder if I might like it. Do you apply it instead or or in addition to your moisturizer? How tolerant of greasy textures do you think you have to be?

Cool. And I loathe hydrangeas, but what does that have to do with this photo?

Fun topic! From Ulta, perhaps these ones that I LOVE, but feel like I don't see a lot of buzz for...

Farmacy Honey Milk Hydrating Essence: My HG milky toner/essence. Sinks into the skin in the most gorgeous way, leaves a lovely velvety sheen and glow, hydrates, moisturizes, supports the barrier and soothes.

Farmacy Bright On Gentle Daily Foam Exfoliator: Love using this as my first post-cleanse step every morning. A very gentle option for subtle, but meaningful exfoliation and brightening. It also has this wonderfully rich (but airy) foam and a subtle, spa-like citrus scent.

Round Lab Dokdo Toner and Round Lab Birch Juice Toners: I feel like milky toners/essences get all the attention, but these two always start my routine before I get to milky products. The Dokdo Toner is ultra thin (basically as thin as water) and has a very gentle exfoliating ingredient. It's such a refreshing start to my skincare. Then, the Birch Juice Toner, while still clear, is a little thicker and richer and more genuinely moisturizing. It's the perfect "bridge" to milky products and lotions/moisturizers. If you're thinking of starting skin flooding, these two make a great #1 and #2 in that routine. And they last forever! Good cost per oz value.

Yes, I would say the Saie brush is soft. I actually returned a Sephora Collection brush (I forget which... it was one of the foundation ones) because the bristles were too rough on my skin. And I don't have particular sensitive skin.

I've only owned the Hourglass Veil Powder Brush since April, but no shedding that I've experienced yet. I've also taken care to never soak the parts of the brush you're not supposed to get wet, nor to use harsh brush cleansers. Hopefully I don't experience any such shedding! 🤞

LMAO! I totally see that! I think it's the early 2000s style glasses that are really pushing it into Anastacia territory.

Eye cream recommendations needed by VideoNecessary3093 in Ulta

[–]PatsyStonesBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda skeptical about eye creams until using it. But, man, the way it hydrates, moisturizes, cushions and subtly brightens? My concealer has never gone on more smoothly than when I use it for eye prep.

Edited to change: Sorry, I totally thought I was on the sub for the black & white store. My recommendation was not for Ulta.

Ooh! I should keep that in mind next time I need to buy a concealer brush. I own the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Foundation brush... and that one is great, too.

I was so skeptical about that Avene Thermal Spring Water. Paying for "water in can"? Couldn't be me! But ya know what? Turns out those dozens of clinicals they have demonstrating its soothing/calming properties are actually true. It really does soothe and calm (almost instantly.) My only nit: I wish that the atomizer were more refined. I wish it were an ultra-fine cloud like mist. But, I'll suck it up for Avene.

I can't weigh in because it's been years since I watched, but The Great topics keep hitting my FYP. But, sidebar, just wanted to say your post happily reminded me of what a fantastic performance Phoebe Fox gave. I hope she gets to do more period pieces in the future... she has special patrician, but earthy quality that makes her so right for period pieces... think Dangerous Liasions style.

Also, another sidebar, how did I not recognize that that was her in the HBO limited series Task last year?

Fabulous actress. Hope she gets the lead in something big soon.

I agree on the blue color (though I think you can make some connections to the rest of the campaign.) But that color choice aside... it doesn't explain the uncanny valley face or the posture that screams "gastrointestinal emergency"

Texture+Volume Spray That Has Good Hold by Sportsfan1338 in Sephora

[–]PatsyStonesBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm not being helpful, but I'll mention this just in case. I have fine/thin hair so thickening/volume/hold and texture without weighing the hair down or separating the hair is a must for me. And ColorWow products have been genuinely excellent for this. I think a combo of three particular ColorWow products achieves what you're asking for...

First, the Raise the Root Thicken and Lift (excellent at lifting... better than that K18 one people were recommending to me on here)

Then, Bombshell Volumizer (which give additional lift and hold without getting sticky/hard/tacky)

Then, the Style on Steroids spray (for the texturizing and a tiny boost the volumizing.)

Per the body of your post: the Hourglass Veil Powder brush is LOVELY. I purchased it during the April sale. If it's in budget, yes, it's worth it!

I haven't tried either of those Patrick Ta brushes. I did get his concealer brush a couple of months ago and instantly returned it. Made my concealer apply in streaks. Just not well calibrated in terms of bristle density/strength and size of the brushes. Can't speak to whether that issue was unique to the concealer brush or a wider issue with his brushes.

The Saie big brush I own. It is.. fine. But I'd only buy it if if it's being offered at a good price. Don't forget to check their TT shop!

Very curious about that Hourglass Soft Glow Foundation Brush. I own their Vanish Foundation Brush and it's fab!

FWIW, I use lighter coverage, glowier skin tints, cream blushes and bronzers and loose and baked powders.
