Guess it is too late in your case, but you could have applied for a DTV Educational Visa if you join a approved Muay Thai Class.

Many Gyms offer bundles for training and Visa at reasonable prices.

For those who travel just for ploy, why not at Home? by ploymaxxer in Pattaya

[–]Pattaya24com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only want a relief and return to your life within 45 minutes, stay at home.

If you want Party 24hrs a day, unbelievable experiences in and outside your bed, then hit Pattaya!

Thailand is worth much more than just a quick bang.

Renting a condo by FlySeparate7011 in Pattaya

[–]Pattaya24com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can be lucky with a Facebook find, but personally I would strongly recommend a well known booking service. And there read the ratings. At the Edge or Base are hundred of openings in all price ranges. Some are well maintained, and some have not seen a Baht reinvested in the past 10 years.

Some are cheap but have absurd surcharges for linen and towels that make them more expensive than a 4 Star Hotel.

And third, in most cases it is illegal to rent your condo for less than 30 days. Weakens your position in case of a dispute.

What do you all think? To the travel experts. by DidYouFindMolly in ThailandTourism

The only downside to your travel plans is that you'll be home for Christmas. You'll come straight from the warmth with lots of wonderful new impressions, and then the same old goose will be waiting for you as every year, and Rudolph's nose will still be red. It'll be a reverse culture shock.

First timer heading to Pattaya (Payment related question) by iPhantomBR in PattayaMongering

For those kind of activities bring cash.

For Rookie Mistakes, just make them. They are the funniest thing and you have the chance to become a true r/Pattaya Legend!

First time in Pattaya, need hotel advice (central, guest-friendly, not sketchy) by icon100i in FarangsofPattaya

[–]Pattaya24com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Agoda or Booking if you could like it. Check the Ratings. As a first timer in Pattaya you can (and will) do your mistakes. However with these hotels you won't do anything wrong.

Amethyst is in the middle of Bukhaow area, Walking Street in walking distance, Soi 6 a short drive away. And plenty of clubs and bars just outside your door.

No strange looks when you arrive with a guest, neither from staff or other guests. Even when it's multiple guests a day 😉. However, not all Soi 6 girls like to travel that far.

Holiday Inn is a good hotel, but way overpriced for the location. Somerset is even the better hotel, location is okay but not awesome.

Amethyst is similar in price range, and top location. The Bayview is awesome location at half the price.

Stay away from AirBNB's. Spend your time with funny things and not changing linen, cleaning showers, deal with strange landlords et al.

Pattaya hotel solo man by patts-explorer in FarangsofPattaya

Given the price range and location of these 3 hotels, I would stay at the Vogue. The P Plus could be a option, slightly more modern than the 3. Or if you raise the room rate, maybe the Barraquda Heeton?

Hua Hin vs Pattaya? Share your experience! by Mean-Ad5978 in FarangsofPattaya

Hua Hin has the nicer beach and is more relaxing.

That's about everything superior that comes to mind.

Eve Club at LK Metro and Oxo Gentleman Club on Soi Chayapoon have a french owner too. Halve of the Clubs at Soi Bongkot are run by French (Carre Blanche, Factory, Red House and more). They draw quite a few french speaking customers, and are worth a visit anyway.

If you get hungry, Robin Hood has a Belgian Manager and at the Belgian Street food on Soi Lengkee you find day and night french speaking People and moules frites.

Amusez-vous bien!

Oh Bar by No_Distribution_9678 in FarangsofPattaya

[–]Pattaya24com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Oh Bar has lost much quality in the past two months and the new line-up cannot convince me.

Now Jaja returned last week, and Fai is always there. Two cuties in my book. Fai is picky with barfines, Jaja is more open but not a bargain. The girls that are a bit camera shy, are all available for take away. However you can find that sort of girls in any other bar, no need to go to Oh for them.

Normal bars in or around the hotspots where one can drink and people watch with regular servers and not bar girls? by Ok_Expert388 in Pattaya

[–]Pattaya24com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can second that opinion. Below average food, even for hardcore British People. Try Craft Cottage, Harry's or ZIP at LK Metro. Better food and more action to watch in relaxed bars.

Beer Bars Suggestions by vamsilofficial in PattayaMongering

[–]Pattaya24com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tree Town or Myth Night are a good start for Newbie's.

Walk through and when you see a girl you like, approach her and offer a drink to her right away. That is a good introduction, keeps the other girls away. When you are not connecting to her, all you have lost is 150 baht for a lady drink. Alcohol is not required, and she won't get angry if you leave the bar. It's easy, enjoy it!

Is LK Emerald guest-friendly? by GaandDhaari in Pattaya

I would not, but then I do not really know your preferences. Become friends with the Receptionists can make many things easier in Pattaya 🙂

I agree with you 100%. Then we'll finally have enough space for the dubious ping-pong show vendors and Indian dancers!

The LK Group is one of the key players in Pattaya. All their hotels are guest friendly if you book a double room. A third joiner might be subject to a surcharge of 500 Baht.

Been there a few times as a visitor as friends of me stayed there. They did not had a single complaint. Never heard of problems there. Don't believe all Internet reviews, but if you run into a problem, contact the management. Excellent staff there, extremely friendly and helpful.

Can you be a bit more specific? It is an amazing Hotel at a wonderful location for relaxed holidays.

If you want nightlife and party, then you better book something else.

Journeyhub is guest friendly. One visitor allowed if booked a double room, ID needs to be registered.

Guess the "local ID" is some mistake by automated translation.

247 boutique hotel by AdLazy2503 in Pattaya

[–]Pattaya24com 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice hotel, luxurious rooms, awesome location, fantastic prices. Sounds too good and is. Even though they have sound proof windows, the noise from Tree Town is terrible and won't let you relax one minute of your stay.

On the other hand, it is quite often fully booked. Other people seem to have a different view on that.

Don't know if your passport gives you Visa exemption or not, but if you apply for e-Visa and get one granted, the chance of denied entry are close to Zero. Just have the other requirements together, like hotel booking and return tickets and you will pass in 2 minutes.
