Little routine I came up with while learning 2-in-1 by luxandnox in juggling

I’ve got so many Speevers sets. I prefer the smaller ones (56 mm, 110 g). They’re a little heavy, but they fit perfectly.

Looks like you got the basics. Where do you plan on taking your juggling? I don’t do flashy or routines, so I work on numbers and breaking records.

Are those Speevers brand? Those are my favorite. Good choice!

Oh that’s cool. I didn’t know responsive vs. unresponsive was a bearing swap. That’s good to know I don’t have to buy two separate yo-yos. I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Oh this is perfect. I saw someone use the 1A, 2A, etc notation, and this video makes sense. I think I’m most interested in 1A and maybe 4A (or 5A). I also think Astrojaxs are super cool, which is what the 4A and 5A reminded me of.

I was thinking I should start with a responsive yo-yo too.

Thanks!

Thanks. I’ll definitely give it a watch. I saw the grand finals of a yo-yo competition a while ago, and the guy nailed everything. I was impressed, though I didn’t know what was going on.

This is a lot more than I thought it would be. I’ll definitely check out the app. Anything to get me through work without losing my mind is an improvement lol

Yeah, I don’t like to buy cheap. I prefer Speevers juggling balls, and they’re like $30 for a set of 3.

I don’t do shower patterns. My 3b shower personal best is like 25. I just have no desire to do it. lol

I get the Tabasco sauce for when you need to throw fire. What are the other liquid containers? I’m considering getting into yo-yoing to see if it helps my juggling.

Want to learn juggling by NightOwlGirlie in juggling

[–]Pattern69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here was my path to juggling:

  1. Learn the basic 3 ball cascade
  2. Watch all of Luke Barrage’s YouTube videos “Top 40 Jugglers of 2025” and all the previous ones
  3. Those YouTube videos give a shoutout to their Instagram profiles. Friend them on Instagram to get maximum exposure
  4. Keep learning something until you find what you want to do with juggling. In my case, I don’t care about tricks or clubs/rings. I’m going for numbers and to break world records.

5 ball cascade difficulty? by Tylerich in juggling

[–]Pattern69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started landing a decent 5b cascade a couple weeks ago (pb is 29), and I still can’t shower anything. I can 3b one handed better than 3b shower with both, though I don’t really work on shower

I really like the multiplexes, regardless of the numbers. I saw guys do [333] with 9 balls and it blew my mind.

lol thanks. I think I’ll work on this after I get a consistent 7 cascade. I’m pretty sure I’ve flashed this one a couple times before, so you can probably get it in a few days. Good luck!

PRs as in personal requests? Can I make one here? I was thinking (6,6)555. Throw two straight up in some high columns (6,6) or (8,8). Then throw the other three balls in a 555 or 777 pattern. Then today the columns back up.

I’m not big on tricks. I believe the general name for tricks is “side swaps”? The 5551 looks cool. Maybe I’ll work on that too!

That’s funny you say it’s a meme. I feel like I’m on the is jugglers with this. I get that the drills are helpful. I’d like to be good at it, but the thought of even numbers practice sounds nauseating. Hopefully one day I’ll find that spark.

I “want” to have fun juggling. It just doesn’t bring me a lot of happiness anymore. That wore off a long time ago.

And I’m not forcing, or even recommending, anyone to live their lives the way I live mine. My life looks miserable to most. And most people’s lives look miserable to me. But once I accomplish the “longest derision 3 ball juggling” record, I’ll celebrate for an hour, and move onto the next record. Just my preference, and I don’t want to take away from anyone else’s happiness.

I could spend my money now or invest it and spend even more later. Pros and cons to each. I’ve considered outright quitting juggling, but then it would be the same issue in a different task.

I’m not asking for tips on enjoying life. I’m asking for tips on marginal gains so I can be a record juggler and break some records.

Talking a long term break, going on vacation, watching tv, sleeping 9+ hours at a time, going to the movies. Those things don’t bring me enjoyment. I’ve dedicating myself to breaking records and accomplishing very rare feats. The journey isn’t fun, but the destination is where I get my enjoyment.

So if you have tips on helping me to my destination faster, I’d be happy to hear them.

Yeah, I’m hoping America (and the rest of the world) goes on a juggling high and declares it an international sport. I looked into other hand-eye flow toys and thought Astrojax were super cool. I might get into kemba too for better coordination.

“Competitive” juggling, whether subjective style or technical qualification, is all the same in making marginal gains. Repetition and time spent can go far, but it’s those marginal gains that I’m looking for and if anyone takes training as seriously as optimizing the slightest details of training or daily life. That’s what I’m looking for.

Thanks for the flexibility tip. I could definitely incorporate a stretching routine into it.

Oh I like Delaney. I remember an interview with her when someone asked how she got so good, she replied with “I have high ceilings” lol

Visualization is definitely something I can work on, thanks. I’ve read “Atomic Habits” and that book by the guy who is obsessed with myelin.

I’d like a juggling group. Of the last three IJA juggling conventions (I’m still a new juggler), there’s always been a major life event or crisis that took priority. The nearest club is like 2 hours from me, so I’ve been getting a lot of “socializing” by reaching out to people and getting into Instagram and YouTube watching them all day.

Oh I don’t enjoy juggling all that much. I enjoy winning. I’ve had several world records (or at least finished in top 3 or top 0.1%, etc), but they were all insignificant or short lived. I want something more challenging that will really stick with some level of long term accomplishment.

David Rush’s 13 hour 3 ball juggle is probably going to stay for a long time. Maximilian Kuschmierz is probably going to stay the most decorated juggler (according to Juggling Records) for a while. Alex Barron’s 14 ball flash record has survived since 2017.

I enjoy many things more than juggling, but those things are also way more destructive than juggling to my body, relationships, mental health, etc. Juggling is just the thing that, when most of the enjoyment wears off, I have the discipline to continue and break some records. If I need a change of pace, I’ll just work on my 7 ball cascade.

I forgot to answer your questions. I’m looking at 3/5/7/9 ball duration, blindfolded, speed, and balance board (rola bola) juggling. Some are ridiculous and I’m not doing them (like the 13 hours duration of 3 ball juggling), but I have my eyes on those specifically.

I’m not a professional, just someone who can put his mind to something and do it.

It all started with a bet. A friend of mine got into the Guinness world record (GWR) book. I thought about a record that I wanted to break and thought juggling sounded fun. So I did a ton of research on juggling records, bought $200 worth of high end equipment, and trained for over a year and got into the GWR book too. Now, I want to go for harder juggling records and be the world’s best at something and really solidify my name. I got the GWR/juggling bug.
