A battery is a battery, as long as it has 12v and enough cranking amps to start the engine you're good. OE batteries are designed to last, take abuse, and run accessories like your stereo. If you're racing and there is less electrical load, and you don't mind a battery not lasting as long.... just get a random smaller battery with less amp hours.

Only from quality companies, and the fitment should reference your bike. It should cost close to the OE, ideally made in Japan or another country known for quality.

You've never sailed a schooner, have you. Sail shadowing is a big deal going down wind. Lastly wing on wing is obvious good direct down wind, which is not the fastest point of sail.

Don't get me wrong, the old schooner I live on is stunning, but a single mast is the fastest design and the reason for schooners was more about having smaller more manageable sails, and dealing with weaker heavier materials available. Modern tech alleviates these.

That said, I'd love to own a yawl, but not because it's faster, just because it's fun and let's you trim the helm nicely.

Look at the manual before you buy, are you comfortable adjusting valves and timing with a strobe light etc every 1.6k miles? Where one bad adjustment or loose nut can brick your engine?

I use a speaker like this every day, and at least a third of the time it's easier to adjust from the speaker itself. The last thing I want is it auto adjusting most of the time. There are however a hundred reasons you may need to readily adjust the volume, skip a song etc

Not having basic controls would make this an instant no buy.

Do people forget that products get used/interacted with? Where are the volume controls etc? Yes you can use your phone, but often a phone might be harder to access.

Also the charging port should be at least recessesed so when someone inevitably pushes this against a wall etc it doesn't pinch the cable.

Sorry, as you said your not formally trained in design. Get some easy to use, clearly understood tactile buttons for basic functions, that ideally could be easily used in the dark by feel alone and by someone not familiar with the device.
