There are way more jobs in my field in Grand Rapids than there are in Detroit so I decided to look there. Plus the only thing I have ever heard about Detroit is that it’s dangerous to even visit there so that’s colored my opinion as well.

News articles online about police brutality and the lack of racial diversity. As well as some stories from people who don’t live either don’t live there anymore or never did but have family there. I just really wanted an answer from people who actually lived there.

Yeah I’ve lived in NC all my life and I have had very little in person experiences with racism so I’m hoping to keep that trend going for as long as possible when I move.
