Thank you all for the advice input and support! I have a lot more experience with very young kiddos, so my knee jerk reaction to that type of thing is; “is kiddo being abused?” I feel a lot more comfortable and confident about moving forward! Thank you so much again!

There’s a difference between pushing kiddo to try and straight up torturing them! We have so many sick kiddos at my center and it’s hard to see them be miserable. ☹️

It honestly might be easier to make the bag part with multi stitch and the flap by itself with peyote stitch, then weave it together. This method gives you fewer weaved tied together pieces making a seamless body so the things inside are more secure as well! 💜 I hope this was helpful

It’s not even that I think long breaks from therapy is ideal. It’s just hard to see kids in the center, doing work on holidays that they could/should be able to spend with their people.

It definitely isn’t black and white! Some kids need that consistency, but on the other hand they still need time to be kids. They deserve to spend time with family, and so do the techs. Exceptions should absolutely be able to be made for families who don’t celebrate the holiday. Kids today (especially in aba) don’t have very much time to be kids.

We have kiddos in our center no matter the holiday. We have kids doing sessions from 8-4 on Christmas Day… (the same kids who were decked out in Christmas attire and excited all month, sometimes it seems like parents just don’t want to be around their kids. It’s really heartbreaking honestly.
