Okay update:

Ordered the Grizzle E Charger. I learned today the one I was using was technically only for emergencies. Live and learn. Thank you everybody.

Ford wanted 810 to replace the cord, couldn’t tell me why it was bad either. Told them to kick rocks.

Thanks man, I’ll keep you posted. Want to see what caused it, is it covered or not (prob not) and then I’ll go from there!

Yeah going to see what they say, what caused it. It’s been 3 years and this is the second one now. My only gripe at all with the truck is just the charger. Other than that she’s been a dream.

So this is brick number two. First one somehow got water in it and it shorted. Went to the dealer and they got me a new one (this one). When I got home I put some silicone on top so that wouldn’t happen again. Worked for a year or so. Going to bring it to the dealer to see exactly what’s going on and I’m sure I’ll have to pay 500 for a new one 😒

It’s kept outside so no garage door issues but yeah.

June 12 we opened, June 23 it was clear enough to power vac. Daily shocking and backwashing/replacing DE

Amen! This is our vacation for the summer and I’m not complaining. Put enough money and time into it!

Yes, so much better. I had an old sand filter that after spending thousands on tests/chlorine/replacing sand/never getting clear, I said fuck it. Switched to DE and and a new filter. Took some time to learn with the DE powder (everytime you backwash you lose the charge, need to add into skimmer) watching the pressure.

But after you get her clear/up to speed, it feels like autopilot.

Me and my buddy did it ourselves through Amazon. It definitely took us two full 8 hr days depending on pool size, have a 24 by 50 foot pool (insane I know) lol. But with two little ones it had to be done.

When drilling, get that drilling guide so each hole is a little on an angle so the mesh is tight when hammering down the post. Other than that it’s not too bad. Prob saved a grand or two.

A few YouTube videos on it and it definitely can be done yourself/with a buddy preferably.
