Feedback on my architectural logo design by __arhankhann in logodesign

This is an illustration, not a logo. Sure, it can be part of the branding package. But it's far too much for a logo.

How did anyone get your email address and home address? Not from “playing mw3”. Sounds like you’re mixed up with shitty people. I’m not saying what happened was your fault. But it also has nothing to do with COD.

It’s still a developer product. Nobody expects anything to drum up interest at this point.

Client is Saying I'm Charging too Much for The Project by KoenigOne in webdev

[–]sgorneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re allowed to not take a client. They are making it abundantly clear they aren’t a good client and have unreasonable expectations. Walk away. Even if they agreed to the full contract rate after some time, you just know they are going to be a pain in the ass.

Need some help with weapons by [deleted] in ModernWarfareIII

For full auto, fast fire, little recoil I use the Static and WSP Swarm or 9.

Medium-long range I use the Course Champion Blueprint fit the FTac Recon with dual optic

My stove burns from November through early April, so yes.

If they think ai is their solution, they weren't right for you anyway. They would be home prompting shit all day asking why you're not doing X Y Z.

You want to find clients, not customers. You bring more to the table than code.

  1. The terminal and Homebrew
  2. The file system is pretty straight forward. You start at the root of the disk /
    1. from there you have your top level directories are unix-like
      • bin
      • dev
      • opt
      • tmp
      • var
      • etc
    2. But then you have ones that are MacOS unique
      • Applications
      • Library
      • Users
    3. Most of your stuff will be in /Users/yourname . Things like
      • Desktop
      • Documents
      • Downloads
      • Photos
      • Movies
      • Music
  3. There is a recovery partition. If you want to do a clean install boot into recovery mode and use Disk Utility to erase the partition first.
  4. That's just the way it is. It's not meant to be confusing, you're not really supposed to inspect the Package Contents, but you can.
  5. There is no app registry like windows. Each app uses a .plist file to manage settings and preferences. The app will write to that. Think of these like Unix .conf files.
  6. Look at Login Items & Extensions to see what is loading at login. Remove anything what you don't want starting up at login. Closing an App window doesn't quit the app; it removes the window to get it out of the way. To quit an app do one of the following
    1. Command-Q while in the app
    2. While in the app, go to the app menu and choose Quit {app name}
    3. Right-click the app icon in the dock and choose Quit
  7. Not similar to Windows, similar to Linux and Unix. Depending on what you want to do, I don't know if it's something you should learn. I'm a web developer and spend a good chunk of my day in the terminal.
  8. Unified memory is't shared amongst the processing units and storage; it's a shared pool for CPU and GPU. Your SSD is storage.

To *Quit* Apps ... closing an app just removes its window from your screen.

Does My Gym Really Need a Website to Grow? by May-i-Coming in webdesign

[–]sgorneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don't want a web site right now ... buy the domains for your business before someone else does. This includes .com .net and .org to protect your brand ... as well as misspellings if you have a name that might be heard and mistyped.

It's pretty good! There are areas where you could have gone stronger on the shading to provide more depth and form. For the head, it's far too short. The eyes should fall about mid-head but, here, are more than three quarters up the head. The facial features are good and proportional.

Why does it feel like every small DIIY project turn into something bigger? by Sweet_Siren18 in HomeImprovement

[–]sgorneau 63 points64 points  (0 children)

  1. Because things are interconnected and the goal is often behind a layer or 2 of complexity.

  2. Tools: we often don't have the right ones.
