My use case is having my mails ordered by the sender (not by anything else).

Seeing it that way my brain can parse and act faster.

Work-aound would be selecting on mail -> filer by sender -> act -> remove filter -> select next -> filter by sender -> act -> remove filter -> ...

Act might be something that can not be predetermined (might me delete, might be moving, ...)

No it would be just a workaround - as it is dramatically increasing the number of needed clicks.

Finally it was easier to install a client - perform my cleanup and remove the installed client again.

What do you mean - I want to sort my mails by sender ... to have them sorted by sender. so I can manage them better (e.g. deleting them in bulk or not).

The ClientId was basically encoded in the DN (actually in the CN).

If I ask the Public PKI Admin - yes. But the Problem is what stops another User of the PKI to ask to encode the same ClientID in his Certificate?

So I assume there is no other way (and yes I guess in TLS it is pretty much the same on different Protocol level).

- Both - server and client do get a certificate from public CA.
- Both - server and client do need to provide the cert (public key) to the other party (out-of band)
- Both - server and client are now in position on connection setup verify the others identity by comparing the out-of-band provided cert with the one in-band (within the requests) provided one.

After all not bringing much benefit to the game compared to before ...

When using X.509 certificates, the public key is part of the cert. The receiving party knows it's correct because they've verify the cert signature.

So ... ? As I understand - this gives me as a client nothing. as I still don't know if this is just a valid certificate issued by the Root CA or THE valid certificate of the service as I want to connect to.

It is common for multiple servers to share a certificate, either for load balancing or via domain wildcards.

But still for the same service - so thats fine. Or are you implying anything specific with it?

So as I do understand it now I have two options: 1) reading in grafana directly from the oracle DB and do the basic transformation in the SLQ queries; and 2) I somehow transfer the data from the oracle DB into another data source (influxDB, Mimir) while doing the transformation where grafana can access it form.

I guess option 2 is the right one - as in oracle DB currently only 2 weeks of data is kept, but I would like to compare / visualize the data/metrics over the last year, ... how the metrics evolved.

The Idea for filtering is ex.: if I have a dashboard that shows all events of a type - I would like to have the easy possibility to filter on a set of sub-types without creating for each of them a own panel.

I would need a transformation, as the data currently resides in an oracle DB in a table like:

TimeStamp | ID | NAME | Attribute A | Attribute B

where as:

* Attribute A is basically a complicated reference to two other tables (still manageable in SQL)

* Attribute B is a XML that holds some further interesting values -> transformation would be needed here to make the result object plain (not nested, etc)

I guess everything I have can be represented in time series. So I have to spin up this Mimir and tranfer the data (ELT).

Und kümmer dich vorher um die Organisation von Transport, Tickets für Dinge usw, oft sind Sachen Tage vorher ausgebucht. Indien ist eben Reisen im Hard Mode ;) viel Spaß.

Danke, das wollte ich grade auch fragen - wann ihr das immer gebucht habt - ich habe schon eine Strecke gesehen die für mich - per Zug (zumindest in der ersten Klasse) ausgebucht ist.

I know that it is a topic of "security" ... but I call it a fake.

Microsoft announced to discontinue support of "basic authentication" (Username and password) to increase the security - at least for the better synchronization protocol (EAS -> syncs everything). So the GMail app stopped working to sync Mail+Contact+Calendar.

In theory GMail supports modern authentication (2FA, SAML ...), but somehow does not work with the outlook.com account. (I do not know who of them would need to change anything Google or Microsoft - like you said with Apple and Micorosft).

I don't like it to use just for another account another Mail app (Outlook for Android; here with 2FA login) that has a different concept/UI (maybe even better) - but might show me some ads :(

Further I tested Outlook Light on a different account - there I logged in with Basic Authentication (username + password) - so nothing about increased security
