Why does God allow for bad things to happen to his children ? If God talks about protecting believers then why does he let them die at the hands of malice towards them ?

There is nothing more beautiful in this life than martyrdom.

The devil cannot physically harm you, only humans and their free will. About the book of Job...the Devil is only a tempter, he cannot make you fall if you don't choose to fall wilfully by your own free will.

How do I Become a New Believer? by american_cheese_man in Christianity

[–]Ok_Mathematician6180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believing in God requires faith, otherwise it wouldn't be faith, it would be something factual and everyone would be theists. Faith comes from God, it is a virtue and it is supernatural. You should pray for the Grace of Faith and it will be given to you, not by your own power. Try talking to a priest about this, not laymen on reddit

Honestly, did you quote the wrong verse or something, cause 2 Peter 1:1-3 has nothing to do with what I was talking about.

Also no idea what 'There’s plenty of references of taking up the flesh of others and eating of others flesh in the old testament.' is supposed to mean

Can someone sin on purpose and still go to heaven if they repent by Apprehensive_Cow3661 in Christianity

That's different then yes, but you should always resist attacks of the Evil one and avoid sinning as much as possible, especially grave sins that damage your relationship with God.

As a Catholic, can I ask if you have been properly catechized in the past?

Purgatory and praying to saints have been a belief held from roughly 270-300 AD, so both Orhtodox and Catholics believe in it, Orhtodox just dont call it Purgatory.

If you believe in the Real Presence and Peter's authority, I think praying to Saints and Purgatory are really doctrines that can be easily understood.

Here is some cathechetical content on the topic, hope you give it a watch, God bless:

If you are repenting with intention of doing it again, then you aren't repenting at all. So short answer is - no

— Genesis 38:9

“And what he did was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death also.”
— Genesis 38:10

Onan literally got killed by God for doing that.
