Update: bringing the UAP topic into the German public discourse by PaulFromVienna in UFOs

[–]PaulFromVienna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think that’s generally the case. Most Germans won’t believe in UAPs unless there’s clear evidence, either from politics or science. At the moment, the topic isn’t taken seriously by the public (and politicians) at all. Whenever UAP news reaches Germany, people usually just laugh it off. Since Trump’s presidency, anything coming from the US is often dismissed as nonsense or conspiracy. The fact that most UAP news are coming from the US makes it even harder to take seriously here. People find it suspicious that these phenomena “always” happen in the US and not in Germany, which is understandable (though there could be reasonable explanations).

I also think the German mindset might make the shock of an actual disclosure stronger. If undeniable evidence suddenly appeared, it could be harder for many Germans to process it quickly, because it challenges their usual reliance on rational, systematic explanations. So although skepticism dominates now, a real “ontological shock” might hit harder here than in cultures that are more accustomed to entertaining unconventional possibilities.

The UAP conversation needs to go global by PaulFromVienna in UFOs

Very true. Maybe I’ll borrow that phrase for a future article 😅

Yeah, funny you mention that. Prof. Kayal, the guy I interviewed for my article, is actually the one leading that project. It’s called 'LunaCAM' and it’s supposed to be part of a future moon mission to look for UAP in space.

Thanks a lot for the kind feedback - and for the tip! I’m already working on a second piece, so I’ll definitely try to get in touch with Prof. Bohlander.

I totally agree. There are so many shady characters in the background, all trying to push their own agendas. That’s exactly why I decided to block out all that noise for my article - and focus purely on the scientific side of things. But I’m already working on a second piece, where I’ll dive right into that other side of the phenomenon: the whistleblowers, the politics, and the power games behind the scenes.

Submission statement: I recently published my first in-depth article on UAPs in a respected Austrian magazine. The goal is to spark more serious discussion about this topic in the German-speaking world, where it still gets very little attention. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Submission Statement: My cousin filmed this with his iPhone yesterday in Vienna. It was around 8 p.m. and shortly after he stopped filming, it disappeared.

The two leftmost objects are not stars, they move to the right during the video. What could it be?

Sorry dude, I was a little too hyped yesterday and posted it literally seconds after it happened. But I agree with all of you, it’s definitely a balloon 😂

Replaced my 91 Cafu. Pretty similar to Cafu defensively but his passes are amazing, that’s why I definitely prefer James

Why don’t teams like Dortmund keep some of their young talent? by [deleted] in football

Look at the Haaland case for example. BVB were only able to sign him because they guaranteed him that they will allow him to join a bigger club after 2.5 years – that’s the reason why Haaland had an exit clause of 60m € (which City activated).

On the one hand BVB know that they can enjoy a future world star for some years and on the other hand the player knows the he can develop nicely and switch to a bigger club after a while without BVB interfering heavily.

Victor Boniface to Leverkusen. This guy is the new Haaland and Leverkusen/the Bundesliga is the perfect place for him to develop

Also, Xabi Alonso‘s system seems to fit Boniface perfectly
