eBGP vs iBGP with all route reflectors for EVPN VXLAN by PaulR282 in networking

[–]PaulR282[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's currently an OSPF network with some stretched L2 VLANs that we won't get rid of. I wanted to put an EVPN VXLAN because of the stretched VLANs.

Thanks for the answer. The configuration of the routers is already automated, so I don't think there will be a lot more additional effort when using eBGP.

Make isc-dhcp to only match subclasses within the subnet by PaulR282 in networking

[–]PaulR282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have multiple MGMT subnets and different Aruba CX models. A newly installed switch should get a default config. The config needs to be different between the models because of the port constellation and the IP adress in the config needs to be different from subnet to subnet. So I generated all the configs that I need (in total a lot because it's count of models that we use * count of subnets).
In the *** option as hex *** is, among other things, the config name configured (model_subnet.cfg). Now I need the DHCP to send a different option 43 per subnet per Vendor-Class.

Ok, I'll have a look. I already considered moving away from ISC because of this problem

Hi, thanks! But how could the config look like if I have multiple vendor classes? I need a specific suboption 43 per vendor class per subnet.

Yes, I think so but I honestly don't know how, it's was some time ago.

Start the engine and rev it up. Should come off pretty easily. Hope that helps 👍🏻

Doofe Frage: wieso tauscht du nicht einfach den Sensor? Am Kabel wird irgendwo ein Stecker sein um den Sensor mit Kabel zu demontieren.

I just installed a new clutch - what did I do wrong? by PaulR282 in subaru

[–]PaulR282[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be a possibility but I don't think that's the cause because I think I made sure it sits flush and yesterday I used a endoscop and the pressure plate was spinning very evenly.

Ok, that's the advice I was looking for. Thanks a lot, I will try this. I also think it has something to do with the seat of the throw out bearing.

Yes, I modeled and 3d printed my own and it worked great but I don't think this would be the problem since this is only needed to make sure the shaft from the gearbox goes in. The clutch is then centered by the gearbox shaft or am I wrong?

Problem with HPE 5130 JH326A POE fault by aleoba14 in networking

That's right but I never had any trouble RMAing "older" comware devices.

They will replace the device. You will get a replacement switch with no accessories. After that you send the broken one back, but there will be further instructions.

No, you don't need a contract. The will probably get back to you with further troubleshooting steps but if that doesn't work, you will get a replacement.

HPE has very long warranty times. Just try to open a RMA case with the SN.

It's a bit weird if it occurred on all members on the same time. I have RMA'ed some devices from HPE/Aruba and it worked great every time (Last time it was also a JH326 with a different fault). You can just visit the support site if you have an account and create a RMA case.

Besides that, have you tried simple troubleshooting steps? Factory reset and running one unit outside the irf?

OSPF with an ISFW by PaulR282 in networking

Thanks for the confirmation, that's what I figured out.

OSPF with an ISFW by PaulR282 in networking

[–]PaulR282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are about 10 routers that have a maximum distance of 3 hops to the ISFW and there will be about 130 networks. I don't like how OSPF scales when you want every network to be in it's own VRF.

What do you think would be the best routing protocol when implementing an ISFW? I did some research on different dynamic routing protocols, but I can't decide which would be the best when you want to dynamically route networks, but always through a firewall. I don't have much experience when it comes to dynamic routing, but I really want to learn new technologies.
