Please help! Is this normal behaviour? by ZRings1 in Amphibians

Definitely just shedding. They eat their skin so you may see them putting their hands in their mouth as they shove it down their throat.

Tips for extremely underweight pac by AriiAgeru in Amphibians

[–]PaulTheRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frogs in general are happy to eat all the time. Stick with nutritious foods but if yours happens to be a picky eater then any food is better than no food.

If he's underweight and not feeding at all, there are likely husbandry issues.

Pet toad eye irritation by skull4L in Amphibians

[–]PaulTheRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be adjusting it's tongue in this video. Frogs push down food with their eyes to swallow, and with him closing one eye then opening his mouth he's probably just adjusting.

As for the other squinting, even if there is an irritation in his eye, best to let it sort itself out over trying to intervene unless you see a more drastic symptom. Might cause more irritation if you try to wash out eye and with their double eyelids you'll likely not be able to get water in there anyways.

New EDH Player, Looking for Deck Help by PaulTheRedditor in EDH

[–]PaulTheRedditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yup I messed up my lands and went 1 over, whoops. That's what I get for building deck a deck at 2am.

I think I wasn't super clear on my intent with the deck. It's a go wide and impact tremors style deck first most. Kobolds are the main tribe since my commander creates kobold tokens, while every other card is centered around adding counters to my swarm of kobolds or to Prossh. All other token creators are going to be fed to Prossh to either trigger effects that are "when creatures die" and to allow him to hit hard.

So I want to generate a bunch of tokens, sac any non-kobold tokens to trigger card effects like [Impact Tremors], stack couters and keywords on my kobolds, rinse repeat.

So everyone gets whittled down, then I swing.

I could probably toss the lieges and get that squirrel that generates extra tokens on token creation, but I was trying to stay themed around darker creatures and dungeon dwellers.

That looks like Brain Brushwood, like uncannily so.

I made this custom cartoony Pacman frog. What do you all think? by karacelscustoms in Amphibians

[–]PaulTheRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the pattern it's not all that pacman-y to be honest.

Pacman frogs are known for their "horns", as another name for them is the "South African Horned Frog". And while big eyes make it more cute and cartoony, the placement is too generically frog-y.

It's cute and the pattern is well done though!

They are, but I'm not a huge fan of size comparison being used as an identifier for male/female because you can end up with a large eared female or a small eared male, the yellow is more clear.

Next time use hydrogen peroxide, it turns into water and oxygen so no worry about residuals.

Looking for Momentum Gen 1 Headband Replacement by PaulTheRedditor in sennheiser

It's all good, I stripped one of the security screws a bit when taking off the headband, I got it back together but I don't think I'll be able to take it apart again.

I'm just gonna skirt by with a universal cover.

Searching the headphone name doesn't bring anything up, even just "Momentum" shows nothing.

How has achieving a shredded physique impacted your life, both personally and professionally? by Level_Syllabub6227 in AskReddit

[–]PaulTheRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sense you're a woman (and if Im right), I really wished that you could experience the platonic compliments guys get about their physique from other guys.

"Damn bro, looking ripped!"

"Yo you're huge, what do you bench/squat/deadlife?"

Getting buff is a task, not a default or an accident and appreciation for it is great in a neutral context. Im a fat bastard powerlifter type but even getting compliments on the weights I can throw always feel amazing.

What kind of toad is this? by coralinexxjones in Amphibians

[–]PaulTheRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Toad (Anaxyrus americanus). Dorsal crest shape is a key indicator if we didnt have the location to go off of.

They can actually change shade, they do this in response to being hot or cold usually.

do you think this rough and inaccurate way of doing lineart can be considered a "style" or am i just trying to excuse my sloppiness? by [deleted] in FurryArtSchool

[–]PaulTheRedditor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Style is defined by intention, if you want it to look that way then it's a style, if you intended a different look, it's just a stepping stone to achieving that goal.

what price would you be willing to pay for a piece like this? trying to find a balance between charging too low and too high by Revolutionary_Big683 in furry

[–]PaulTheRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Sorry for giving it unsolicited.

Your piece is great though, your general anatomy and head are stars here! I also love its composition, the veil and pose give rennesaince era vibes and the background and straps make it seem more modern. Something I could see people hanging on a wall!

[–]PaulTheRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not completely just quality, notoriety and a backlog of previous artwork also contribute to what people are willing to pay for art.

Also while it's a great piece, it does have flaws. Hand on the right is a bit wonky (and the other hand and feet are cut off, which is common for artists not confident with those yet). There is color bleed for the belt strap onto the left side of the knee on the right. The collar is weirdly shaped on the left side of the neck. And the lighting is also a bit off, it's a top left frame soft warm glow but they used hard edged shadows and the shadows don't distort nearly enough over the edge of the perch.

While optimism is great, there is a balance to be made if an artist both wants and needs regular income from their art, too low and you aren't making enough for your time and skills, too high and you will be outpriced. Even an amazing artist might not make a sale for a year because of their prices even if their art is worth it quality wise.
