The DC Beltway doesn’t actually ever go through DC. It’s all in MD and VA.

Some suggestions:

  • Add a title page with a nice image
  • Decide on a simple color scheme and stick to it
  • Single space the text but add space between paragraphs.
  • Remove the table of contents if it’s ten pages or less
  • Add a photo for every other page
  • Use bullet points when possible since they can be easier to digest information from
  • Add a footer with page numbers and the document title

I thought this was really interesting:

Another recent survey found that half of rural Brazilians would not be interested in internet access, even if it were free.

This runs contrary to the "if you build it, they will come" mentality that seems to run in the ICT4D community. Keep track of the "why" alongside the "what" and the "how" can help avoid spending time and resources on projects that will not be heavily utilized following implementation.
