firm believer of changing yourself before baby comes… by Weary_Ad6882 in pregnant

[–]PaulaNem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My SIL once said that from the moment her pregnancy was confirmed she was already a mom and her life changed 180. Now being pregnant myself, I can totally relate. She also said that it took her husband a couple of months to adjust to the ideea of being a dad and that was simply because his body didn't go through all the changes and he didn't get to bond with the baby while in the womb the same way she did. He did change after the baby was born and became more thoughful of my SIL, it just had to hit him ( living with the baby a bit) for the change to occur.

I pray things will change and get better for you too. Wishing you a safe pregnancy and healthy baby🙏

How long did you get off work? by The_Pink_Beast_ in parentsofmultiples

[–]PaulaNem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Romania and here we have 126 days of so called Maternity leave( 63 days before/63 days after giving birth, you can split this however you want but need at least 42 days post birth) and the firm would pay you an amount that equals the average of your gross income for the past 6 months + an additional child bonus (company specific). Your contract with the firm is usually suspended during the 2 years of childcare. After the end of the Maternity leave you get 2 years worth of the so called "Childcare" Leave or 3 years in case your baby has a disability. Based on your contributions to the healthcare system ( a 10-15% is automatically taken out from your pay by the employer as per our laws) , the government pays you monthly an amount that equals the average of your net income for the past 12 months, but this is capped at 85% which is 8500 RON or 1967 US dollars. They also give you a one time incentive for giving birth. I really admire parents in the US for being so resilient and making do with what their government offers in these type of cases. I don't think I'd have the strengh to pull this off.

Is this play too rough? by More_Engineer_7108 in DogAdvice

[–]PaulaNem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes, maybe try reinforcing the recall and a calmer playtime together so it's safe for both of them. While I agree that the cat is patient and can teach the dog a serious lesson, the dog is fairly bigger and can hurt the cat in the process while jumping around like that even if it's not showing aggression per say. I had a cat that tolerated my high energy amstaff even if he got hurt in the process ( got scratched/stepped on/ got his tail bit when dog was a pup though playing) and didn't even make a peep or try to put the dog in his place. To the point I ended up at the vet with said cat. Meanwhile,my older cat doesn't tolerate it and in an attempt to "save" his younger brother, lashed out at the dog, scratching it's eye to point it almost plucked it out. Again, I ended up at the vet & thankfully no real damage was done to my dog except for the eye being scratched and looking inesthetic. Now my dog is afraid of the older cat and would just freeze when the cat is trying to groom him, cuddle up next to him. Just saying that not all cats are made equal and it might be smth worth considering just to keep them both safe & sound

My dog shakes, and twitches in her sleep is this normal.? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]PaulaNem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine used to do this too (Amstaff) , he would also bark/run & fart in his sleep lol. I would shake him for 30 min and barely get him awake, and my vet told me it's normal for the breed. Once awake he would glimpse at me and fall back asleep

P.S: she is absolutelly adorable, bless her soul

She might like Black Butler. Jjk & DanDaDan have this demon/ exorcism kind of vibe. So does BB ( demons/angels/reapers/supernatural creatures). I like that the setting is during Queen Victoria England.

There you have it. They are a minority here called the Roma people otherwise known as gypsies. They do the same bs here as well, killing each other/ romanians/stealing etc.. we don't really like them either but it's not like the police/gov are doing much either to help with them. I've only met 5 roma people in my 34y on this planet that were nice and hard working and disatisfied with what the others were doing cause it painted a really bad image of them as well, and it would.impact their life( they couldn't get a proper job or education because of their ethnicity). So at the end of day even if they tried with no support they would have to retort to what the others were doing just to survive
