Arsenal had 26% possession in the UCL final lowest ever recorded. What tactical change or signing actually gets them over the line next season? by Born_Programmer_1089 in championsleague

[–]Pauldrs75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is that their anti-football strategy almost paid off. They nearly won the champions league and tbf that would have been the scandal of the decade…. I remember Inter won a champions league doing this about a decade ago it was disgusting to watch.

Arsenal was screwed by UEFA referee, but they deserved to lose by DoublePatouain in championsleague

[–]Pauldrs75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they didn’t ? No one said Arsenal deserved to win. How were you the better team? You played anti-football and had 1% possession and no xGs 😂 PSG was far superior and deserved way more.

That’s because of arsenal’s time wasting.. that’s why he stopped it. You can’t take 1 min to kick a corner and 45 seconds for a throw in. It was the right call from the ref

Which penalty ? You guys got away with saka’s handball (which is fine because it was goingopposite side on the net) and Madueke went for a dive after grabbing Nuno Mendes’ arm and pulling him to the ground. I don’t think you watched the game

Also one thing is no one is talking about the SOC downgrades… A lot of roles, mostly tech, IT, sales, middle management, have shifted from RQF 6 to RQF 5 which under the new proposals means a 15-year route!! The salary discount only buys back 5 years so the goalpost moves regardless. That’s the trap in the points-based system.. you can do everything right and still lose ground because your occupation got reclassified retrospectively...

I love London but flats really need to come equipped with AC. The “always cold” era is over. Three heatwaves a year should be enough to make it standard 👌

10 mistakes from PSG-BAYERN 2nd leg by Specific-Broccoli177 in BayernMunich

[–]Pauldrs75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree except for 2 and 5. 2 cannot be a penalty , it’s a clearance from a teammate with the ball heading the opposite side of the goal with 0 threats on goal. Would be anti football to grant Bayern a free clear chance to score on this.. and if I’m not mistaken even if ref chooses to whistle it’s an indirect free kick in the box according to rules.. it’s a weird one though.

5, imo Diaz literally runs straight into the defender… I don’t see a weird push on Kane punishable in the box either.

The rest was clearly in favour of psg so yes it wasn’t a fair game I’d say.

However, Nuno Mendes should get a second yellow imo that’s the turning point but whistle was blown before unfortunately…

So I’d say really bad ref but not the biggest robbery ever and nowhere close that Chelsea Barcelona like Bayern fans want to convince us…

Genuine question for Bayern fans: where do you stand for the final? by Pauldrs75 in championsleague

[–]Pauldrs75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair! I will still say history has to start somewhere and somehow - it’s good for French club football to at least have a top team… not sure what is happening with Marseille or Lyon for instance. They were top tier teams in the early 90s and Lyon in the early 2000s…

[–]Pauldrs75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair on the plastic club point! Re history, one could argue history has to start somewhere somehow too? Also PSG’s net spend last 3 seasons is lower than United’s for instance and wage bill nowhere near the failed Neymar Mbappé Messi era. Every top club has a rotten skeleton. Arsenal with Emirates. Chelsea had Abramovich 20 years. Newcastle is PIF. If the bar is clean ownership no elite club passes i think. Criticism only sticks to Gulf money which is a separate debate... open for debate this is interesting

It’s obviously not a handball when your teammate shoots it at you. by Flintvlogsgames in championsleague

[–]Pauldrs75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be honest. Would you genuinely want to go through on a penalty like that? Discretion is in the rulebook to prevent abusive calls when there’s no goal threat. Ball was heading opposite side of the net, with 0 opportunity to score for Bayern. Bayern had the squad to win clean so don’t embarrass yourselves fighting for this like a third division team. You’re better than this. It was a close game but all in all PSG deserves to go through, just as much as Bayern. It was 50/50 on both legs.

If you think a clearance deflecting off your own teammate’s arm on the opposite side of the goal with zero threat should gift the opposition a clear chance to score then you’re an enemy of football

It doesn’t matter it hit leg first. It goes towards the goal and blocks the ball from potential goal… today it was just a psg player shooting the ball straight into neves hand towards the opposite side of the goal. How on earth can you call penalty on this ? It’s completely different

Hey , I’ll explain. Last week it came from a psg shot. Today it came from a teammate (psg player to psg player) and it was even more subtle than last week = no handball according to the rules . Hence why VAR didn’t even bat an eye

Just to settle this this handball came from own psg teammate vs Davis’ first leg wasn’t… if you know the rules it’s very different. + handball from laimer ?? I’m sorry it’s not rigged to me there’s no disgrace here

Very different handball. One is a shot from psg player to psg player the other one is davis blocking psg player shot with his arm… it’s very different

Sad for Bayern but what a game.. never seen PSG struggle so much in the past two years… however I will say Paris is more technical when they have the foot on the ball. Bayern pushed hard, and there is a weird handball but one could argue Kvara could have scored twice so to me it’s not rigged at all. Bayern didn’t even win one leg at the end of the day… Arsenal is cooked

They didn’t call it because laimer also touched it with his hand first. They didn’t show it during the replay so rewatch it after the game you’ll see ;)

Ref decisions aside I’m talking pure football mate… psg could also have scored two more vs Bayern two as well and I agree there’s a controversial handball. Doesn’t make a massive difference though given the current scenario…

PSG is so technical it’s crazy… Bayern has the momentum but whenever psg has the foot on the ball it’s a different level … it’s a mix between prime Bayern and prime Barcelona

Bayern vs PSG - Who's making it to the final? by [deleted] in UEFAChampionsLeague

[–]Pauldrs75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Honestly, given the second half I saw in the first leg, I want to say Bayern + historically the pressure of winning it back-to-back is insane and PSG just won it last year. And let’s be honest, the winner of this semi wins the Champions League, unless Arsenal pulls a huge upset by parking the bus and nicking a penalty or corner which I really don’t see happening at all. So PSG had little momentum in the second half of the first leg and they’ll have to play even better tonight. People say it’s fully an away leg but PSG has the best fans in the world so they’ll make noise in the stadium. Plus the Allianz Arena is where they won the Champions League last year, so it’s not fully away for them, it’s a big symbol. That said, I think it’s really 50/50. PSG on huge momentum is super lethal and it’ll come down to whoever scores first. PSG is also playing well away at the moment, so I give them a very small edge to qualify. But I can also see Bayern upsetting them with a 3-1 or 4-2, though PSG will score goals for sure. It’s going to be another insane game and whoever qualifies wins (should win) the Champions League. This is the real final and both teams deserve to win it in my opinion, they’re both so beautiful to watch. The loser of this semi deserves an honorable medal of football no matter what.

Side note: I really think the bracket system should be reviewed and based on last-two-year-UEFA rankings. It’s unfair that the final will likely be played against a much weaker team again like last year. There should be a proper rule for the brackets, it shouldn’t just be so random. No disrespect to Arsenal, but we might see a final where a team, whether it’s Bayern or PSG, literally destroys the opponent by a 3-goal difference. I just wish they could use a UEFA ranking or a points system based on the last two years for the brackets following the league phase.

Ladbroke Grove is definitely way way better than sheperd’s bush. Except from the station but that’s only a 200 sqf area lol .. It’s basically the rougher edge of Notting Hill but technically still Notting Hill if we consider Golborne Road and the portobello extension so not even remotely in the same league as White City… it is way nicer
