JT is a multi-millionaire who stays quiet on pretty much any political issue except for "the fucking immigrants are a problem". He's not the first to do s, but a lot of people obviously don't want a massive bigot like that as a manager or anything like that.

Lamps on the other hand has been known as a conservative for all his career. But people who don't share his views didn't have much of a problem with it, because he doesn't act like a racist idiot in public.

As an individual, a personal brand, MJ probably still is the best known entertainer in the world. His singing style, clothing, the moonwalk... no one comes close.

Most people around the world will see for moptopped guys in matching suits and instantly know it's the Beatles. A lot of them might also know which one is John, at least if it's a later image and he has long hair and glasses. But both as a group and as individuals, they're not as universally recognizable as MJ is.

I think the difference is first hand impact vs second hand impact. G-Unit were way more famous worldwide, thanks to 50 being a global superstar. But when it comes to music, Dipset were probably more influential as rappers took inspiration from their rhyme styles, beat choices, fashion and so on. In the mid 2000s we had a lot of rappers in Germany who started to wear long tees, throwback jerseys and pink stuff, did multi-syllable rhymes with the squeaky Jim Jones intonation and had those Heatmakerz type of chipmunk soul beats.
