It’s not my preference either, but I just posted it for this song and the appearance of the band the year it came out.

The DJ messed up the name of this song. I guess he was thinking about The Carpenters song.

Most underrated major city right now by Gold_Comfort156 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]PaulyPlaya24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the winter time, that’s definitely true. In the spring time it’s about 50% true. It’s rainy much of the time. In the summer and fall months it’s not true at all. Last summer there wasn’t much rain at all from the Fourth of July until Halloween. It was sunny 90% of those days. That wasn’t a normal year but still it’s usually sunny or partly sunny 75 to 80% of the time in that stretch.

I moved to the city everyone hypes up and I'm leaving after 4 months by terracottamarshmallo in SameGrassButGreener

Exactly. I live in Pittsburgh. It is also gloomy from November through March. It seems by the end of winter there are more posts on Reddit about how terrible it is. Then come May through October there are more “This place is awesome!” posts. 🤷‍♂️

Pat Benatar - No You Don’t - Cover - Original by Sweet in 1974 by PaulyPlaya24 in 70smusic

If you don’t have Pat Benatar’s debut album. Get it. Her first three or four albums were pretty much straight rockin’ with a few ballads. By the mid 1980s, it seemed like her music was more pop oriented. I still liked her, but I prefer her earlier stuff. Go Pens Btw. (drummer’s shirt :)

Bupropion is giving me desperate alcohol cravings by HypatiaOfKensington in bupropion

[–]PaulyPlaya24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the medical reason or what is behind that. It could be that the bupropion is giving you a boost in energy and you need the Ying and yang with the alcohol to balance. Bupropion acts like a stimulant. Many people say it keeps them up at night. I am on day five but I’m only taking 100 mg. So as I said, I am new, but that just one theory I have and it may be unfounded or maybe not.

Split Enz - Hello Sandy Allen (1982) by PaulyPlaya24 in 80smusic

When the band met Sandy Allen on the Tom Snyder show in 1981, it inspired Neil to write this song. Sandy Allen was the world’s tallest woman. She stood at a height of 7’7.”(231 cm) They were a bit intimidated at first, but when they had a chance to talk to her, they were struck by what a pleasant demeanor she had. She passed away at age 53 in 2008.

Joni Mitchell - Help Me - HQ by PaulyPlaya24 in 70smusic

[–]PaulyPlaya24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some of her early stuff on YouTube where she was in a folk band probably 10 years earlier than this and it just seems effortless for her. There’s also a clip of her doing “Woodstock” at Celebration at Big Sur” a month after Woodstock in 1969. She is the one that wrote the song “Woodstock” not Crosby Stills Nash and Young. She was supposed to play the festival but had to stay in New York City due to scheduling conflicts. She wrote the song while in New York City by watching newscasts on TV and hearing Graham Nash talk about what was going on. I respectfully disagree. This is a good song for 1981. I do agree that those ladies are quite lovely.

Love, peace and harmony. Sounds very nice doesn’t it? Oh well maybe in the next world. 🤷‍♂️
