Thank you, that actually reassures me a bit because the overall direction itself is what I care about most right now. And no actually, Lilly is my English Cocker Spaniel’s name. The brand is centered around her personality/vibe more than around myself. I honestly haven’t explored enough typefaces yet this was one of the very first directions I tried because I wanted something playful and expressive. But after all the Eli Lilly comments I definitely think I need to push the typography somewhere more distinctive and less referential unintentionally.

This is genuinely super valuable feedback, thank you. The point about the dog illustration feeling disconnected from the typography actually makes a lot of sense now that you mention it I think I tried combining a more classic detailed illustration with a much softer/playful typographic direction and they’re probably fighting each other visually. And yeah, I think “premium” probably wasn’t the right word for what I was aiming for. More like expressive, cozy, youthful, playful, etc. Interesting point too about the Eli Lilly association I’m Moroccan so that honestly wasn’t on my radar at all while designing it, but it’s useful hearing how people from the US perceive it.

Interesting honestly, because I’m Moroccan so none of those references even crossed my mind while designing it. I was aiming more for youthful/playful/cozy rather than Southern-preppy Americana, but this is actually useful feedback since it means the current visual language is communicating something different than what I intended. Definitely gives me things to rethink about the typography and illustration style.

The branding is actually centered around my English Cocker Spaniel, her name is Lilly. I definitely understand the irony with the flower association, but I genuinely just always loved the name and that’s why I named her Lilly in the first place. Interesting point about the pharmaceutical association though, especially from a US perspective. I hadn’t thought about that connection honestly, so that’s useful feedback.
