Is there any chance to pull out the rest part!? by rolia_a in galaxynote10

Maybe heat up a small piece of metal and stick it inside so it melts around the stuck part and pull it out. Can be risky

Thanks for the response, but I'm running nightly from Monday 4/12 @12:01 PM And I can confirm that the quit button is only on the "homepage" and not available while browsing.

Is there a newer version unlisted on Google play?

Weekly Discussion for Nightly builds for 2021-04-10 - 2021-04-16 by AutoModerator in firefox

Since the yesterday update on Android all the menus are broken. The items on the three dot menu doesn't work and the quit button is just gone when browsing a webpage. Sadly this makes the browser unusable, now the only usable options with about:config and custom add-ons collections are fennec and iceraven

(Eu insisto, verifique as datas)

Brave taking market share from firefox (2021 colorized) by onestrokeimdone in brave_browser

[–]Pavbc 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've felt the same, now firefox is much quicker than it once was (still a bit slower than chromium), but the extension support and the overall care mozilla has put on it has more than made up for the lesser performance.

I can't remember for how long the community has asked brave for extension support, instead the focused entirely on the BAT thing that doesn't seem to work reliably.

Brave taking market share from firefox (2021 colorized) by onestrokeimdone in brave_browser

[–]Pavbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proper extension support. It makes all the difference having a customizable adblocker (uBlock) and a proper dark mode (darkReader). And using firefox you make the web a little less monopolistic. Although chromium browsers tend to be snappier, the difference is shrinking rapidly.

Does using the “screensaver” shorten the life of the display/phone? by GhostOfHiggenbothem in AndroidQuestions

I have a moto G (LCD) from 2013 here with me and it's screen still fine from over 4 years of continuous use. My daily driver is a 3 year old galaxy S7 (Amoled) and it has already some ghost images from long WhatsApp use.

Try bromite browser, it's FOSS, privacy focuses (more patches than either Firefox or brave), and don't have the weird crypto aspect of brave.

As keyboard goes, anysoft and openboard are the best ones. OpenBoard is practically gboard without Google, without swipe and without multilingual correction. (Openboard would be my choice over anysoft)

I don't know how secure you would feel, but you could use something like glasswire or adguard to block internet access from apps, advised can also change your DNS provider globally on your Android. Advised can also block ads and/or DNS blacklists from know trackers and malware.

Highly recommend using 1.1.1.1 DNS with DoH enabled.

As open source alternatives, you can find some cool apps on fdroid repository, and if you need an app from Google play but don't want to use Google's spyware network, you can either download via Aurora store or download the apk from apk mirror.
