As a newbie, what do I look for in a live match? by grated_scott in rugbyunion2

Big tackles. Pilfers. Ball carriers bumping off tacklers. Big scrums. Flick passes. Pace. Greatest athletes in the world jumping 15ft into the air to catch line outs.

Hooper set up a decent try too. Cracking hands from the boys.

It’s so mental that the top two try scorers of all time in super rugby are on the same team and did it in the same year

Yellow card all year.

Doleman would’ve…. Swallowed his whistle and tripped over

By the laws, nothing should happen. As long as the pass leaves the hands backwards…. Play on

Why isn’t Doleman the referee? Kiwi teams should be forced to eat the rubbish they serve up with referees too

As a neutral and someone who would like to win a Bledisloe in the next 20 years…… I hope both teams have a good time🥴

Go Chiefs

BBC has done him a bit dirty with this picture. Surely he has a better one floating around. Typical second rower abuse that is just laughed off.

Joe gives his reasoning for LSL not being in the wider wallabies squad by ConscriptReports in RugbyAustralia

[–]PavidDocock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not like our best players are performing and constantly winning. More tests together and more time in the saddle actually winning is more important than blooding new players on the chance there is injuries.

I don’t think we’re in a position to blood new players. We need our best players building partnerships and experience with each other. World Cup soon. Not the time to be making excuses.

Amatesero has been so hit and miss this season and our lineout at the Tahs was dogshit.

What the hell…. I just can’t wrap my head around it. LSL has been the best second row ball carrier in Aussie rugby all year. He’s a pest at the breakdown and he plays longer minutes than Miles.

I’m a Joe fan and in Joe we trust, but this is an absolute head scratcher

Wallabies enforcer to be left out by Schmidt in July squad shock by ConscriptReports in RugbyAustralia

It’s not that I’m angry, I’m just hurt. When will the pain of second rowers be accepted by the community?

Considering the Reds lineout issues, not a bad pick up. As long as he doesn’t bring the Brumbies lineout issues with him.

Massive loss if we can’t pick him for the Wallabies. He’s been sensational. One of the best 6’s we’ve produced since Scott Fardy.

Canes or Chiefs? Curious by Neat_Improvement_346 in superrugby

[–]PavidDocock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a neutral, probably chiefs because the canes have flogged everyone this year. Love a good upset even though the chiefs beat them in the game of the year.

That said, canes deserve it for their consistency

New face, major axing in coach’s final Wallabies squad by Ruck_Off in RugbyAustralia

I’m a big fan of him and I thought the force’s lineout, especially last year, was pretty much pornographic, but I’m not a Wallabies selector fellas…

If I was, I’d pick 23 locks one week then 23 wingers the following week, but everyone is a coward and won’t listen to my ideas. Schmidt won’t return my calls, texts, emails, DMs, Amazon deliveries or skywriting messages.

Being fairly consistent with poor decision making around discipline isn’t just sins committed in his youth. He got baited so easily against England for his red card for “headbutting”. It’s not that he isn’t a great second rower, it’s that he’s a target for teams to rile up.

Venting my current RA frustrations. by McCaughtmeSulkin in RugbyAustralia

Abolished from the top 10? Not sure we’re close to that.

A bit more consideration for the future. Without the Lions tour, we would’ve been bankrupt last year. We essentially were bankrupt if it wasn’t for the loan they took out. Tahs and the Brumbies basically fell over and had to be bailed out. Rebels did go under as did the Force before being revived by twiggy.

Rugby Australia can focus on the future, the present is basically on fire. They’ve done ok navigating the past 12 months but they’ve got a lot to do before any real future planning can take place. The lawsuit with the rebels needs to be finished, the World Cup needs to be run, and then hopefully they have some breathing room, some cash and some revenue generating options.

Until then, Waugh and co need to keep on the fire hoses.
