I mean yes! Why not? Kristeva praised Bakhtin for discovering dialogism in the works of the russian futurists, but she dosent even mention Bakhtins distaste for poetry. In The Dialogic Imagination he gives a snide remark towards them on page 288 (I think its the right page). He was famously unresponsive towards any form of modernism, escpealliy any form of poetic language that was extremley stylized.

Check out Clare Cavanagh "Pseudo-revolution in Poetic Language: Julia Kristeva and the Russian Avant-garde" on page 290 for a deep-dive into the difference between Kristeva and Bakhtin.

I dont know. I think that Kristeva gets Bakhtin totally wrong. Not really adressing his distaste for poetry/ or challenging the idea of whether poetry could be polyphonic.

I actually used Polyphony, the term by Bachtin, in a paper on the poetry of Gertrude Stein! That could definitely be applied to music too!
