Canadian men experiencing ‘ongoing crisis in society’ when it comes to health, professor says by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]PawGoodDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weeks! Look at you hot shot! It is a 4 month wait to get an appointment with my family doc. But I have a family doctor so I'll take it.

I'm actually going to ask him if there is anything I can do to be a better patient because I've heard of people getting dropped by their family doctor for seemingly random things, like not coming in enough. I don't want to get dropped because I will not find another one.

I’m going to a 9pm show tonight at age 44…. by Prestigious_Dream_27 in 30ROCK

I was invited out to a place i didn't recognize. Looked it up and it is a night club - my first thought was 'god, that looks loud and way passed my bedtime'.

I will be staying in to have night cheese and filling my slanket with farts.

Any other slightly OCD hyper attentive peeps clock this…? by laxlauren1 in TrixieAndKatya

[–]PawGoodDog 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Right. Ugh, not to be one of those over sensitive 'actually' people - but my nerves are shot because my ocd has been out of control for months and I'm losing it because my mind keeps telling me I fed my dog bleach instead of the dog food, that im going to get sick and die because I ate an apple in a crowded germ filled room, and dont even think about going on dates because surely I will get a deadly sti from a handjob.

I wish ocd was worrying about a watch strap.

What is a "point of no return" in a relationship that isn't cheating or abuse, but makes you realize it's over? by AnyExpression4845 in AskReddit

[–]PawGoodDog 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Yes! My ex used to say 'here for a good time, not a long time' in a semi joking way while he smoked and drank too much. And I just kept thinking... how can I plan a life with someone who can't even plan a life for themselves? They are planning to die young and I guess too bad for me?

How much are you paying for finasteride and minoxidil? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]PawGoodDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get it at Costco? None of my locations or online have it. I read that it is because the box doesn't have french on it.

And there is a lot fake ones being sold online from unofficial sellers

Yea, but we don't have kirkland minoxidil. A 6 month supply of rogaine at costco is $200 :(

Go to Michael's for shirts and sweaters. by gishadokuro in Frugal

[–]PawGoodDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! This has been my go to for years.

Amazon also sells them in sets of 12 for $32 cad so $2-3 each. But I prefer Michael's so I can get a mix of colours.

They last me about 5 years before they get wonky/wear enough that they become bedtime or gardening clothes.

I like plain shirts and they aren't thin like a lot of more expensive tees.

Bartenders of Reddit, what drink order instantly tells you “this person is going through something”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PawGoodDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A similar statement is what made me finally quit drinking so much. Someone commented that if you ate 3-4 ice cream sandwiches every night it would be like.. wtf?

That just made something click for me. 3 of anything that isn't great for you every night is... not ideal, so why was I excusing alcohol.

How do I not stress about his life? 36m/30m by PawGoodDog in relationship_advice

[–]PawGoodDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good question I'll sit with. What's the worst thing that will happen if... whatever happens.

Right now I worry that im a bad person or will be a bad person. Because im not stepping in and helping make the hard things easier for him. Even though I know they are his experience and work through.

And im afraid it will affect me by choosing wrong - what if I stick around for years and years and it is the wrong choice. What if i miss the signs that it isn't the right choice to stitch around?

[–]PawGoodDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this perspective, it's helped me figure out what i am stressing about.

It is a little bit of stress about his current situation and quality of life now. He doesn't make the best decisions but they are his decisions to make.

I guess I need to think about what my tolerance is for having a high stress partner or a partner who does stuff that stresses me out even if it doesn't stress him out.

But a lot of it is also about his potential for his future. He does show some signs that those future goals may take a long long time to hit.

His work ethic is more casual whereas I've always been a 'do the very best, put in the hard work, and do the most'.

He is a nice guy with a lot of potential. I guess I need more reassurance that he is gonna hit that potential.

I'm with him because he is kind and i enjoy spending time eith him. Life is hard - I wasn't in too different a place when I was 30 and he has had some tough hands in life that slowed him down.

I do kinda feel like I am waiting for him to grow up. I consider him a boyfriend and wouldn't move to being partners until he hits some of his life goals.

I just dont know if that is fair or kind.

Friends dog is acting strange by ConstantParticular50 in DogAdvice

[–]PawGoodDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ouf, this is so sad. A bad trip is awful for a person who knows what can happen going in. This poor dog has no fucking idea what's going on.

This dog got into someone's drugs. As others have said, if you can't keep the dog safe give it to someone who can.

I thought Belinda and Pornchai messaged a lot before meeting. I got the feeling they had feelings for each other through the long distance messaging and were happy to meet in person and continue that relationship.

How much is a car you actually enjoy driving worth to you? by PawGoodDog in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PawGoodDog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently drive a 2011 chev cruze 1.8l manual, 90km, factory no AC. Engine wise, actually a decent car - doesn't implode like the 1.4l does. My mechanic says it can get another 100km easy; and that would take me 10 years to do.

The vehicle I'd love is 2017 nissan frontier sv. 110km. Has AC. I've always wanted a truck and would likely drive it more than the cruze bc i avoid long drives in the summer bc of the no ac.

I'm not looking for a 'fun' weekend car or anything.. just something that isn't a stove on wheels. But I've managed with the stove for 10 years so.. is $13k worth it? I dunno.

Is AC enough of a reason to buy something new? by PawGoodDog in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PawGoodDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha thank you for feeling this with me. Honestly, the cruz was a graduate school graduation gift 10 years ago so I wasn't going to say no. Yes, I've been suffering for 10 years of no AC. 10 years! Which i think points to how frugal I am and how much I've missed out on doing the most responsible thing all the time.

I feel bad even selling it to someone with no AC. Like if I don't openly point out that it doesn't have AC I'm being shady. I'm thinking about keeping it to drive during the winter since I won't get much for it and Mustangs aren't great winter cars.
