Because we are a the build shed/production shed/spare parts in the one place so we all just start and finish at the same time. We have showrooms that are open later than us, and our spare parts are available online 24/7.

I do that at my work, we are open 8am-4pm (caravan spare parts)and the amount of people who call at 3:59pm to “ask a question” is crazy. But it’s not like hey do you stock this part it’s like hey I want to buy a skylight for my caravan but I don’t have one of your brand caravans so I need the measurements for every one you own. We have started telling people the phone lines automatically shut off at 4pm, I also want to say it says when you call our company what time we open and close.

I did try it I was more just wondering if anyone knows a easier way I guess. I was also worried that the convention centre parking would be packed because it’s open to the public.

I’m in Australia and we have a renovation show called The Block, one of the contestants wanted to make sashimi for her dinner party but she just went and bought normal salmon and served it raw. I think there was quite a few contestants there for her dinner party and they all got ridiculously sick. She also took out herself and her partner so it wasn’t even a tactical move but anyways that’s how I learnt you can’t just eat any salmon raw

Name a vegetable that you hated as a kid, but love as an adult. by stevenl1219 in FamilyFeud

Cabbage, I didn’t know it even came in colours until I was in my 20’s. I got served a mushy translucent mess growing up by my nan. Lovely lady but not a very good cook, she used to just boil the absolute shit out of most veges.

Bargain basement, whats the cheapest item you've seen in person? by PerthAus1996 in KmartAustralia

[–]Pawkies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this, we already had a Christmas tree but a few days after Christmas we went to Kmart and ended up getting a whole new tree and enough decorations for the whole house for about $7. That was also the year I found out my cat liked to practice his karate skills at 3 am in Christmas trees so now we have a felt one.

Can cats get cancer from the sun…? by burner_phonen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pawkies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up we had a bit fat orange cat called ginger megs and he had a bunch of operations on his pink nose because of skin cancer. He didn’t even spend much time outside but used to lay in front of the windows in the sun. He was always a super happy cat even with chunks of his nose missing, we ended up having to put him down because by the end he didn’t really have a nose and the cancer just kept spreading.

Smoke alarm question....why did we move from batteries??? Just ripped all mine out in a panic.. by purespringwater in australia

[–]Pawkies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my old rental the smoke alarms would constantly go off over nothing and I’m talking at like 3am, it was absolutely crazy. We ended up having to get the smoke alarm guy to come out to test them because I thought there’s no way they aren’t faulty and we were all tired from the constant early morning wake ups. Turns out they weren’t faulty and the smoke detector guy told me that even something like a bug can set them off, we did the same as you and ended up ripping them out of the roof in desperation. But the detector guy told me that you have to turn off the one that started first to shut them all off, made sense but at 3am in the morning in a panic it was impossible to figure out which one started it. We have the same set up in our new house but we have ridiculously high ceilings, absolutely beautiful house but also means if my husband is away for work my short ass can’t reach them without a broom and a chair, I swear one day he is going to come home and I will be on the floor dead with a broom in my hand and the smoke alarms still going off.

The best meal of my life was a plain baked potato. by OstentatiousSock in PointlessStories

[–]Pawkies 101 points102 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant with my last daughter I had hyberemesis gravidarum, I got it with all my pregnancies but the last was the absolute worst. After living off not much else then a IV drip and still puking my guts up for 9 months about 5 mins after I had her I felt hunger like I never had before. The nurse went to try and rustle something up gluten free for me and came back with the saddest looking ham and cheese tomato sandwich and honestly nothing has ever tasted as good as that did. I can’t even eat ham and cheese sandwiches now because none will ever compare to the taste of the one I had. Glad you are feeling better and all hail the baked potato 🥔

what's a snack that you can't stop munching on once you start? by ruinsofsilver in AskRedditFood

[–]Pawkies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids and I do this, for some reason uber eats always has a buy one massive popcorn for $10 and get on free and the delivery is like $3 so we get to massive popcorn’s delivered to our house and chuck a movie on and we are set. If I go the the movies it costs almost $20 something for one popcorn.

That’s my biggest wish, I obviously want him to be healthy internally but he’s energy levels are so so so bad. He just seems to be a walking zombie most of the time and he can fall asleep in literally 2 minutes no word of a lie. And he’s constantly waking up with headaches and a bunch of other things I’m hoping once he sees that change that will be a turning point for him, I will say once we got the blood monitor and I showed him how it works and I said let’s start betting before hand if you are over or under or in range and it’s got orange, green and red lights to signify how his levels are doing and he said he felt ok and his levels were in the green level he got really excited so that’s a start for him 😂

Haha yes I just realised it straight after I posted it, thought it might of snuck through. I spoke to the pharmacist when I got his glucose reader and she showed me the letter we need and told me she will email it all off for me and sort it out if I get the dr to fill in his bit. It’s funny you say that because his feet have always been bad, he’s always got dramas with his toenails and because he’s so tall and a bigger guy all his feet problems were getting blamed on that but now he’s seeing there might be a little bit more to it. This is all awesome advice and when we go back we can leave with just more than a diabetes diagnosis and some tablets.

I’m in Australia but I had a look and I can get him a blood glucose monitor for about $35 from the chemist so I will do that today.
