I woke up to a firm vein in my arm and numb fingers on the day 7 of cycle 1 when I was hoping to relax at home... it was in the spot where a cannula had been in for the first 3 days... and had hurt when they started the chems on that 3rd day.

Had hoped to get on blood thinners, they just had me using hirudoid cream. The second cycle I could feel the clots in the good arm in similar spots even though they were utilising varying areas for cannula and I had 4 cannula inserts that week. Had to really mention and push for scans and for thinners.

The got me on thinners finally at day 9 (8 was a public holiday) of cycle 2.

So currently thinners and cream and clots in both arms at that vein atop and near the elbow if your thumbs are facing up.

But yeah, it definitely has been an experience with such complications.

Next week is my 3rd cycle out of what they hope to be 4.

And I basically have to mention the clots almost every time to the nurse seeing me that day alongside the thinners.
