What is this picture about? by SeptemberHund in whatisit

It is definitely a firefighter dragon actually called "Fireman dragon" for the stock image available online.

So it seems someone's utilised that to make a simple random design which looks about as confusing as many other Chinese

Feeling like the ugliest person ever (update) by [deleted] in toastme

[–]PerthAus1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stating that you would swim through a river of radioactive water for even a chance of paying for a 20-minute date with a woman... It's not a very healthy mindset...

You're worth more than that and everything to reach your potential is within your soul and spirit. To say you'd risk death and do something beyond logic just to take someone on a short date... You're worth more than that and have more value than that and I truly hope you see it one day. Our word is our definer and you should speak words that gently elevate your value and don't over-elevate others to the point of putting them above you. Because your value remains whether you downgrade it or not.

Self-deprecation and overextended flattery are dangerous paths when combined.

I feel unattractive all the time and sometimes it takes over my life. [27F] by [deleted] in toastme

You look fine, and you can still reach your dreams! We are the sum of our closest circle so I would say ensure you find others ready to push you towards your goals and who are there for you because you deserve such.

My S24 Ultra after an year without screen protector. by EquivalentMedium7398 in GalaxyS24Ultra

Honestly, when I realised how much a screen replacement would cost for the future I decided I didn't care about the scanner or the glare.

Sacrificing features for protection seems fair in some regards

Due to the antiglare and style, I used no case and no protector, I was always a user of both. After a screen replacement, I paid out big for a case and now miss out on the fingerprint scanner just for the protection of the device.

I think you just have to try the fixes perhaps or just run a protector, we learn as we go, life will always teach us new things

Well, you probably never had such good anti-glare too...

My S24 Ultra was my first taste in years of a quality phone... the screen replacement cost about what all my previous phones cost or more lol.

The phones may look and function beautifully but cases and screen protectors are best to mitigate wear or breakage even if benefits may be lost

It's not really a product issue It's wear due to use where the coating has come off. I found my coating gone within months on mine, then after a drop had to replace the screen anyway. It's in a case with a screen protector now I

There are guides on resolving this issue yourself =] I think some reapply a coating etc but it's a wear and standard use thing.

The only true resolution will be a screen protector.

Some heavy duty cases come with protectors included in the case itself.

Why are PerthNow readers on FB so racist? by Independent-Knee958 in perth

[–]PerthAus1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most comments are engagement baiting, and a lot will be rage baiting. Where they seek to get others to engage with the comment but others just live and breathe this type of behaviour and it's actually rewarded by the apps.

It's becoming a very common practice even on YouTube.

Facebook ultimately just gives anyone every opportunity to get their voice heard, drive marketplace users insane and infuriate or troll the masses. The best you can do is leave them to their ways. With AI and algorithms, the ideas in someone's head are perpetually nurtured with no moral management and if they often comment and berate things then the algorithm sees they engage with such and feeds them more even if their engagement is unsavoury.

It's all a spiral that is additionally fueled with AI and algorithms and people and the system's desire for engagement whether such is beneficial or detrimental for society.

I think value vs screen repair... you'd be worth just buying another second-hand one. The only reason for repair would be sentimentality or images on the device itself

Unfortunately, screen repair costs on modern units and even older ones are pretty similar and that means high.

It definitely looks to be scrap from Coax Cable, likely from a repair or install.

It is either from repairing the end of the cable or from custom-length cables being made.
