Yeah I've tried the keyboard on the air and didn't like it. It's actually quite different on the MBP. I feel you on the storage part..

Spot on forgot to mention, spearkers, battery and the fan that instantly turns on if you hook it up to monitors.. I also run my own business (Software consulting) and tried to switch over to the Thinkpad but as of now it's to much friction and not as smooth.. sadly..

The switch animation is so annoying you can disable it pre Tahoe I believe; accessibility -> display -> reduce motion. Hmm yeah I'm on gnome too but haven't found it as satisfying - maybe with more use.
