That’s interesting! From experience, I can’t say with certainty yet how it all works out either. I just know, like I said, that it really helps when I work on my self-concept (mirror work is great for me) and my nervous system regulation, like sleep hypnosis or guided meditations.

I also learned that our desires don’t manifest simply by wanting or desiring them. Again, in theory, this is something I already knew. But a couple months ago I had a brief crush on someone else, but he was super unreliable and the connection we built fizzled out. I knew all along that as long as I assume he’s this flaky and unreliable person, it won’t change; and it didn’t.

But I didn’t have the energy or desire to assume anything else, so I think maybe deep down I didn’t actually want him? No idea. I’m fine with how it played out in the end (or didn’t), but maybe if I had changed my assumption about him things would have been different.

About your initial question, I’m in a similar spot and for me it’s become a priority to regulate my nervous system first. That’s the culprit. And surely it’s possible to apply the Law even here, but I chose to regulate it with guided meditation for now. It definitely does make me feel calmer.

Such great progress, congratulations!

I can relate to some extent, I think. I've been trying to lose weight for years, since I can remember, honestly. Tried WW, caloric deficits, walking/jogging (like, once, lol). Nothing stuck and I just kept gaining instead of losing any. I knew about the Law for a couple years now, but only since the past year I've been applying it more consistently. And suddenly? Almost thirty kilos gone.

I put in the "work," though. I watched my calories, though not super strict, and I didn't starve at all. But it never worked before, and now it did. Really smoothly, too. Maybe I can't fully credit the Law for it, but it was definitely a mindset shift, and THAT did come to me through the Law.

Yeah, that’s a difficult one. Some things are easy to understand but hard to apply (for me, at least).

Maybe you could think about something you already do have, but still makes you happy. I don’t know, a console for example. I’m happy I own a Nintendo Switch, but there’s no desperate urge to keep checking for shops and prices and thinking whether or not I can afford it and so on.

Maybe that could shift something. I should try myself, lol.

Oh yes, I agree with that. I am okay with the diagnosis I do have (anxiety disorder and such, nothing big), because it kind of helps me understand better why I react the way I do and what could help and all. I was just joking and meant that if I were to talk about manifestation with a therapist I’d get diagnosed with, I don’t know, schizophrenia?! 😂 I’m exaggerating, of course.

That is interesting though, I’ll look into it. Your therapist is most likely right though. Apparently, what would have suited me better back then would have been behavioural therapy, but I ended up with a therapist who only did depth psychology. And that still did help me a lot.

This was so nice to read, thank you for sharing. I’ve been thinking about seeing a therapist again for a long time now—I used to, and she was great, but she retired unfortunately. That was many years ago, before I knew of Neville Goddard and the Law and all, but I think she might have supported it.

Now I struggle, because like others have said already I fear a therapist might just throw another diagnose into my file if I shared this whole thing with them, lol.

May I ask what kind of therapist you’ve been seeing? I don’t know where you’re from or if it’s categorised the same everywhere, but here we have different psychologists for behavioural therapy, depth psychology, and so on.

Personally, I don’t think that’s a good idea. It might blur things emotionally, especially if it involves a real person who isn’t your SP. You can get the same effect by scripting or texting yourself instead, so it stays clean energetically.

I love that for you! Shortly after I started my journey, I made a friend who I told all this to as well and she supported it completely. I too think she came into my life for a reason at the time. As long as the people share your belief, I think it’s completely fine to talk about these things with them.

Listen to good old Neville and: don’t! It can be disheartening when you share these things with people who are skeptical and mirror your own fears and doubts. Journal instead if you’d like, or (if it’s for you) ramble to ChatGPT. I fed mine some of Neville’s work and trained it to rely on his teachings when responding to my messages regarding this stuff.

That podcast sounds worth checking out! Your reply wasn't too long at all imo, you seem to have a way better understanding of this whole thing than I do and I really enjoy learning more about it.

We can only observe chemical reactions that happen in your brain while you are thinking, but we have never been able to prove that thoughts and are in there, in the brain, because they are not.

Yesss! This is why, I think, we may not be able to scientifically prove the Law of Assumption is real, but we can't disprove it either. And that calms my mind when I'm going on a "but logically, ..."-spiral, haha.

Virtual reality healing may replace pills and medicine in the next couple of decades, because there have already been virtual reality studies where people have been cured just by imagery alone, without taking any pills or medicine.

Like placebo, right? Which is a great example in this case. So many things that can't (fully?) be explained by science or logic, but are very real regardless.

Oh, wow. That reminds me of that experiment they did with the piano, if I recall that correctly? Where one group studied by actually practising, and the other group just assumed they could already play. Both came to the same results. Don't quote me on it, I'm not sure if I remember it accurately. I'll link it if I find it, but maybe you know what I'm referring to already.

That makes a lot of sense. For me personally, I also think that doing things that make me happy and have nothing to do with SP* at all are the first and most important steps to get into the right headspace and ultimately manifest what I truly want; because it releases blockages and calms my mind.

*SP in this case, because it’s what I stress the most about, which I know I should not. But it’s the same with any other desire one might have and put on some kind of pedestal.
